Personal Care global is a +€13 billion business with much loved deodorant, skin cleansing and oral care brands. We hold leading category positions in deodorants and skin cleansing globally and the #1 or #2 position in oral care in the countries where we are present.

Europe Personal Care is a vital Business Unit (BU) within the Global Personal Care Business Group, with an annual turnover of c€1.8bn and comprising 6 strategic markets (UK, Germany, France, Benelux, Italy & Poland) and 3 Personal Care Categories (Deodorants, Skin Cleansing and Oral Care).

Working with some of Unilever’s biggest and most iconic brands such as Dove, Axe, Signal & Rexona, the Europe Personal Care BU is a key cell for market share, growth and profitability in a highly competitive landscape, and is served by 6 European Sourcing Units and a large 3PM network. The PC Europe BU has a clear focus on driving sustainable profitable growth through powerful brands & innovation and an agile mindset towards managing channel dynamics.

Skin Cleansing has a global footprint and is market leader in 16/20 top markets with 20% share worldwide. We operate with 5 core power brands in our portfolio – Dove, Lux, Lifebuoy, Dove Men+Care and Axe. Our strong category portfolio of global power brands is one of our key competitive advantages that enable us to meet all consumers’ needs through unmissable superiority.

Skin Cleansing BNX is a 55 mio business and our strategic role is to competitively grow. Dove & Axe have leading positions in the BNX, with Dove Men & Sunlight further adding to our overall position in the category.

Strong value-led growth will continuously be required to develop already well-established categories & share positions. To do so, the BG PC strategy is built around 3 principles (Assert Leadership; Disaggregate locally; Simplify) and 4 strategic thrusts (Make it Premium, Profitable, Positive & Personal). The BNX Skin Cleansing strategy is fully aligned to this.

Our objectives are to:

  • Premiumise Skin Cleansing to improve Profitable Growth: by sustainably premiumising and supporting on Dove Skin Cleansing & asserting leadership in growing consumer demand spaces
  • Transform channel footprint towards higher growth- & higher value channels and customers, based on aligned channel portfolio strategy with focus on H&B & dCommerce & reviewed approach to beauty/variety discounters (serve the channel with our ‘good’ portfolio)

With strong global and local competition, the innovation pace is high within the PC market. This makes it highly important to - next to securing a strong and healthy core - we unlock key demand and on trend spaces timely to both drive and ride the wave of category growth. As per the new strategy, renovation/innovation will be done for multiple countries (PC6 focus) at once, with the lead sitting in one of the BG-led markets (NL for skin cleansing).

Job Purpose

This role is part of the Personal Care BNX team and reports into the Skin Cleansing, Dove Brand Manager. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly consumer and customer oriented, naturally curious, and able to think and act big.

This Assistant Brand Manager (ABM) role supports the entire team on different projects & processes, including managing end-to-end responsibility of your brand and running your own innovation & renovations projects. What will your main responsibilities be?

  • Business responsible for innovation projects, in which you manage to land & activate the projects.
  • Champion competitive behavior & mindset throughout the business and translate it into marketing activities to grow brand share.
  • Support marketing activities focused on Consumer Demand Creation for big bet innovations from concept to launch campaign, using consumer and social insights and data to drive content development, influencer marketing, community engagement, PR, strategic partnerships, media amplification and the planning and execution of in-market experiential events (including data management with CMC / legal / media agency).
  • Leading limited edition launch projects.
  • Localizing our Masterbrand activities, in collaboration with Dove’s global team.
  • Actively supporting our social-first marketing strategy, to establish Dove as an iconic beauty brand in the Benelux.
  • Own SEO content, 7OA & having up to date brand portfolio in The Asset Bank.
  • In year business tracking and execution of business cases.
  • Understand consumer needs & insights and translate them into relevant brand activations.
  • Work closely together with the CSP & CDB teams in delivering category promotional plan set-up & implementation.
  • Develop and execute shopfloor activation for our brands, together with our Shopper Marketing team, ensuring the quality and content of the POS materials are in line with the campaign strategy and brand guidelines.

What you need to succeed

Experiences & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant brand marketing experience, specifically in personal care or B&W is a plus
  • HBO is required
  • Project management: Proven experience managing successful projects on time and in full towards a perfect launch.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, finance, supply chain and creative agencies, to achieve shared goals.
  • POS development and project management: has briefed and judged POS materials according to the POSM excellence Personal Care criteria and has experience with project management of POSM material delivery to customers

Skills

  • Deep interest and affinity with the beauty and skincare industry.
  • Natural understanding and knowledge of social media environments, trends, social beauty space.
  • A mindset of ownership, accountability, entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities against challenging timelines, making choices and prioritization across brands
  • Strong communication skills
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Creative judgement to judge for delivery on brand, on brief and effectiveness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Operational rigor (perfect execution)
  • Required languages: English + Dutch (French is a plus)
