How you can make your mark

Are you ready to make your mark as HR Manager for our marine crew in the Fleet Management department within the Boskalis Offshore Energy division?

As HR Manager, you play a key role in strengthening our organization by embedding the Human Excellence pillars Performance & Development, Mobility and Vitality into everyday practice. You work closely with colleagues in Crewing and Fleet Management and support a diverse, international crew operating on our vessels worldwide.

You are responsible for the execution and monitoring of HR policies within the Crew department and are continuously challenged to further improve and future‑proof these policies. Thriving in an international and dynamic environment, you are result‑driven, proactive and take ownership by initiating and organizing improvements based on your expertise and experience.

Further developing and optimizing the organization and its processes is high on our agenda. In this role, you actively contribute to and lead HR projects that support these ambitions. As a driven and independent HR professional, you coach management and employees, act as a trusted advisor on a broad range of HR topics and ensure the department is optimally supported from an HR perspective.

You can build bridges and translate strategy into practical implementation, with a clear focus on delivering tangible results.

Your responsibilities as HR Manager:

  • Act as a trusted advisor, sparring partner and coach for the Crewing department and our vessels, balancing strategic HR topics with hands‑on operational matters.
  • Play an active role in HR projects aligned with the Human Excellence pillars, helping to build a strong and future‑proof HR foundation for the marine crew within Offshore Energy Fleet Management (e.g., optimizing performance management processes and contributing to projects related to diverse and international employment packages).
  • Guide and support managers and the Crewing department in implementing and embedding key HR processes, with a focus on development, talent review, succession planning and continuous improvement; support personal development and ownership amongst the crew; follow up on appraisal cycles and coach crew members throughout their career journey within Boskalis.
  • Work in a structured, plan-based way; keep overview and follow-up; stay closely connected to daily practice to understand what happens amongst the marine crew; translate insights into clear analyses and concrete improvement plans.
  • Live Offshore Energy HR values (cooperation, integrity and pro‑activeness); be solution‑oriented, challenge the status quo, explore new approaches with the Offshore Energy Crewing HR team, and take initiative to develop solutions when they do not yet exist.
  • Be able and eager to visit vessels and connect directly with the marine crew.

Your qualities and experience

You can move ahead as an HR Manager if you have:

  • At least 10 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in an international organization with a hands-on culture.
  • Proven track record in successfully running HR projects.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration or similar.
  • Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Excellent social skills, including persuasiveness and influence; initiative; persistence in complex situations; a focus on workable solutions; and the ability to build strong relationships.

We offer

What you can expect

  • A dynamic environment: Collaborate with a talented team of experts from different backgrounds and contribute to making a significant impact.
  • Rewarding conditions: Competitive salary and benefits including holiday allowance, 26 days of holiday entitlement (based on a full-time contract) plus collective scheduled days off, a non-contributory pension scheme, collective schemes such as company health insurance, and travel allowance.
  • Career development: Opportunities to bring out the best in yourself, including (online) courses at the Boskalis academy.
  • The Boskalis campus: The Boskalis vibe at the Papendrecht site, with restaurants, sports field, a wharf where vessels dock, a state-of-the-art auditorium, brainstorming rooms, an experience centre for client meetings, and a barista corner to connect with colleagues.
