Lead Innovation Portfolio Management at Philips

Purpose of the Role

The Innovation Portfolio Management Leader is focused on strengthening the operational performance, transparency, and governance of Innovation within Philips. Sitting within the Business Operations Office of Innovation & Design (I&D), this role empowers our Business Units (BUs) to effectively manage their Innovation Portfolios, ensures high-quality enterprise-wide reporting, and drives continuous improvement of processes and tools in the Innovation domain, including Planisware.

This role combines analytical excellence, stakeholder collaboration, and problem solving, with a proactive mindset to support I&D and BU leadership in making well-informed decisions.

Your Role:

Enable and Support BU Portfolio Management

  • Empower BUs to optimize their Innovation Portfolio Management capability, driving data quality across the enterprise.
  • Ensure knowledge and minimal standards are available to optimize portfolio management decision making.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and best practice examples to aid BUs in structuring their innovation portfolios effectively.
  • Act as a trusted, solution-oriented partner to BU Portfolio Managers and PMOs.

Portfolio Insights & Enterprise-Level Reporting

  • Lead the consolidation and delivery of enterprise-wide Innovation metrics, including preparation for QBRs, BoM reviews, CIO updates, and SVB reporting.
  • Deliver high-quality data analysis and translate insights into clear, visually compelling report-out documents.
  • Safeguard consistency of metric definitions, KPIs, and reporting standards for Innovation.

Innovation Portfolio Management Change Control & Tooling Improvement

  • Translate BU needs into actionable system improvements and guide enhancements through the Planisware and CliQ Sense Change Control Board.
  • Represent the business viewpoint in system development.
  • Provide training and hands-on support to strengthen user adoption.

Business Operations Excellence

  • Maintain and enhance dashboards, templates, systems, and data structures.
  • Identify issues in data quality or process execution and drive improvements.
  • Support I&D leadership with ad-hoc analysis and operational problem solving.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships across I&D, Business Units, Markets, and functions.
  • Prepare Innovation reporting for Board of Management / Exco decision making, and work together with Strategy on specific focus projects within Innovation scope.
  • Detect shifts in viewpoints during discussions and facilitate alignment.
  • Bring energy, positivity, and a collaborative approach.

You’re the Right Fit If You have:

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree OR minimum 6 years of experience with a Master's degree in areas such as Portfolio Management, Innovation Management, Project and Program Management, or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of proven track record in Portfolio Management.
  • Experience in innovation management is a must; familiarity with the Philips innovation domain or health systems innovation is a strong plus.
  • Strategy and/or Management consulting background is a strong advantage.
