Internship at BMW Financial Services IT Delivery Center

The BMW Financial Services IT Delivery Center, embedded within Financial Services Netherlands B.V., is an integral part of BMW Group IT. With a dynamic team of around 40 internal experts and approximately 180 external specialists, we deliver cutting-edge IT services to the international Financial Services community of BMW. Our Breda office serves as a strategic hub in the Netherlands, driving innovation and collaboration across borders.

Internship Role: Brand Promotion & Digital Content Intern (Focus BrightSign)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As part of our team, you will help bridge the communication gap between our local office and the BMW headquarters in Munich by bringing to life the vision of a digital info screen system. This system will display timely, relevant information to internal employees and external consultants via large TV screens connected to BMW’s internal BrightSign platform. You will ensure consistent, visually compelling messaging aligned with our brand identity, enhancing engagement and awareness within our IT community.

YOUR TASKS

You will collaborate closely with the local IT Management and Governance teams to define the scope and content strategy for the info screen system. This includes integrating existing content from headquarters as well as creating new, locally relevant material. Additionally, you will work with BMW headquarter colleagues to fully understand the BrightSign system’s capabilities and identify the best ways to leverage it for impactful content display.

You will plan and assist in the physical installation and configuration of TV screens at our Breda office, positioning them for maximum visibility among IT staff. Design and develop content templates and formats (images, slideshows, videos, presentations) aligned with BMW’s corporate identity and communication standards.

Furthermore you will develop and manage a content calendar for screen-based communications (TVs, digital signage, in-office displays), identify target audiences and establish clear content objectives, such as enhancing brand awareness, boosting employee engagement, and promoting products effectively.

You will optimize all content to accommodate various screen sizes, aspect ratios, and resolutions, ensuring a seamless and visually appealing viewing experience across all displays. Create and adapt visual and video materials specifically designed for BrightSign-compatible devices, maintaining high quality and consistency.

Furthermore, you will actively engage with an international network of colleagues who manage similar systems at other BMW locations to exchange best practices and continuously improve our approach. Additionally, provide ongoing support for system maintenance and proactively propose enhancements based on user feedback and evolving communication needs to ensure the system remains effective and up to date.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Media & Communication, Digital Marketing or Brand Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to conceptualize and plan content that informs, engages and inspires.
  • Interest in emerging digital media technologies and brand storytelling.
  • Understanding of marketing and communication principles.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Creative problem solver with an eagerness to experiment

In addition, you possess strong communication and collaboration skills. You are self-motivated, have a growth mindset, and a willingness to learn. You have good communication skills in English, with Dutch language skills being a plus but not mandatory. You are able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multicultural and international team environment. Creativity and a passion for digital media, visual communication, and enhancing user experience complete your profile.
