About the Finance Department

As Team Lead Financial Accounting, you will be part of the Finance department, currently divided into four teams: Business Control, Financial Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. This role is within the Financial Accounting team, which oversees the company's accounting (i.e., bookkeeping) and (consolidated) internal and external (tax) reporting. The team consists of 3 members, and you will directly manage two of them. In this position, you will report to the Manager Finance & Control.

Your Role as Team Lead Financial Accounting

In this role, you will manage the Financial Accounting team, and you will be responsible for the coordination of the complete annual and global audit process. You will work together with various internal (Finance department, Payroll, and business) and external stakeholders (external auditors). There will be significant autonomy to build your team, optimize processes, and lead project management initiatives. Moreover, you will be working in a dynamic, informal, and approachable environment where decisions are quickly made, experiencing diverse global exposure and driving innovation.

Regular Activities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Financial Accounting team, e.g., leading stand-ups, monitoring progress of tasks, setting priorities, development guidance.
  • Coordinate the complete annual and global audit process, while being the main point of contact for external auditors (in The Netherlands and abroad).
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Execute activities within the tax control framework (including reviewing VAT returns, preparing CIT returns, calculating deferred tax assets, etc.).
  • Design and implement internal control processes, assess risks, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and optimize ERP systems to enhance administrative controls.

We Ask

  • Master’s degree (Finance related) and at least 6 years’ experience in accountancy or financial control (preferably extended with a post-master’s degree)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Experience with Dutch GAAP and IFRS
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Proficiency in using Office 365, especially Excel
  • Experience with leading a team (training, teaching, and coaching team members) is a plus
  • Ability to identify financial risks and translate them into financial statements, with solutions to mitigate them
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with a critical and persuasive approach
