Warehouse Director Solution Management

The warehouse business unit in Vanderlande develops and delivers high-end warehouse automation for e-com and retail players (Business-2-Business). Our solutions, consisting of material handling equipment, warehouse execution software, and life cycle services, are optimized for the general merchandise, fashion, and food segments. We have a strong regional presence in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific where we serve customers such as Walmart, Albert Heijn, and Crocs alongside local players.

Your team

The Warehouse solutions team is located on our Veghel campus, our headquarters, and drives the strategy and product development. Our team works closely together with development, sales, and operations to ensure that our solutions deliver smooth customer warehouse operations and meet our internal business targets. Per customer segment, a solution is developed with standardized material handling equipment, warehouse execution software, and life cycle services, which is configurable per project.

As a Director of solution management, you are responsible for solution development to achieve global business success (+150 M EUR yearly revenue). The next 5 years are about delivering on an ambitious growth plan, with a focus on winning new customers. You will work closely with our talented system engineers to define the best solutions to our customers' problems and guarantee the system's performance over its lifetime. In this role, you work closely with the product managers of the individual hardware and software modules to steer the development (upstream) and with our regional customer-facing offices to listen to our customers and support sales with various marketing activities (downstream).

The market outlook for warehouse automation is healthy and the main challenge is to drive our solution development and business development efforts to grow market share, in an environment that is used to sell and deliver customized projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Work backwards from the market and customers to understand needs, pains, and gains.
  • Analyze market dynamics to understand our competitive environment and our required positioning and portfolio.
  • Driving financial planning and solution P&L through business cases and roadmap prioritization.
  • Determine partnership and opportunities and work with the product managers to translate this into win-win partnerships.
  • Develop global marketing and sales strategy.
  • Drive sales targets through preparing market introductions, increasing product awareness, training of sales, etc.
  • Interact regularly with (potential) customers in meetings and events to sell the solutions.

Your profile

  • 10+ years of product development, product management, and/or business development experience in a B2B environment with high complexity technology.
  • Strong business acumen, an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills and ability to create a high-level view and prioritize strategically.
  • Ability to influence without power and create lasting impact.
  • Is willing to travel internationally up to 20%.
  • Is familiar with the intralogistics business and has a relevant network.

What we offer

This position offers a competitive salary range of €7,000 to €9,500 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
