THE ROLE

As the finance lead for Wella Northern Europe, you will own the financial steering of the region from monthly closings to strategic planning, ensuring clear visibility on performance and driving business decisions with impact. This role combines FP&A excellence and Brand Finance partnership: you will translate numbers into strategy, shape commercial actions, and maximize ROI across marketing and trade investments. You will lead planning, forecasting, and financial reporting activities working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations, ensuring targets are achieved and resources are allocated to the highest-value opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning & Financial Performance
    • Lead the full planning cycle for the region (S&OP): monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budget (AOP), and strategic scenario modeling.
    • Lead the month end closings in alignment with established month-end deadlines and serve as a business partner to the P&L, consolidating and articulating regional P&L performance with sharp insight into revenue, Gross To Net, margin, and investment dynamics.
    • Drive Gross Margin analysis, highlighting product mix, pricing, and account trade term drivers; identify opportunities to optimize profitability and prepare ad hoc financial analysis (bridges, deep dives, provisions analysis, etc. as required by Corporate management).
    • Anticipate risks and opportunities, providing clear recommendations to safeguard delivery of financial commitments.
  • Business Partnering
    • Partner directly with commercial leaders to track performance vs. targets, ensuring growth is profitable and aligned with strategic priorities.
    • Monitor performance and proactively manage risk and opportunity. Support estimates, operating plans, forecasts for medium/long-term; analyze variances to forecasts and determine key actions to achieve targets.
    • Challenge assumptions and drive accountability within Commercial and Marketing teams to ensure disciplined performance management.
    • Drive commercial effectiveness through advanced analytics, scenario planning, and clear storytelling to leadership.
    • Deliver robust financial modeling and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives, channel expansion, and regional priorities.
  • Brand & Marketing Finance
    • Lead the financial governance of brand spend, ensuring alignment between marketing ambition and financial targets.
    • Support Brand and Marketing teams in evaluating ROI of activations, campaigns, and innovation launches, redirecting investment where needed to maximize impact.
    • Build frameworks to measure performance (ROI, NIS, brand contribution) and ensure full transparency of marketing P&L.
    • Support the strategic prioritization of investments across brands, channels, and countries based on incremental value creation.
  • Leadership & Influence
    • Continuously improve tools, processes, and reporting to enhance forecasting precision, efficiency, and business impact.
    • Communicate complex financial data in a clear, concise, and engaging manner to leadership and non-financial stakeholders.
    • Lead a team of 1-2 analysts to deliver on corporate forecast & close deadlines while also mentoring and developing Finance talent.
    • Act as the finance voice within the leadership team — balancing strategic perspective with executional discipline.
    • Champion best practices, simplification, and consistency across the regional finance community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Brand Finance, or Commercial Finance, ideally within consumer goods or beauty industry.
