As the Senior Director - Indirect Procurement, you will be a senior member of the Indirect Procurement leadership team, responsible for shaping and driving global strategies across regions and businesses. Acting as the face of indirect procurement, you will partner with category and region/business teams to identify opportunities, engage with ExCo and senior business stakeholders, and embed procurement as a strategic value creator within Philips. The role leverages global market intelligence to anticipate category trends, optimize sourcing strategies, and lead efficiency and spend optimization initiatives. You will also ensure operational excellence and risk management to Business and Regional Leadership through cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable value.

Your role:

  • Manage a global team of Business & Region Engagement Managers.
  • Represent Indirect Procurement across key regions and businesses, ensuring transparency on global indirect spend.
  • Support monthly category reviews and drive alignment across business units and regions.
  • Drive delivery of productivity commitments in line with enterprise-wide P&L goals.
  • Ensure that indirect procurement is deeply embedded within business units and regions.
  • Establish procurement as a value creator, not just a cost center.
  • Build a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration across the global team.
  • Share insights and identify opportunities for cost optimization, innovation, and cross-category synergies.
  • Define and implement processes to deliver clear and consistent forecasting and reporting of procurement value, ensuring alignment of financial impacts across organizations in a transparent manner.
  • Deploy global supply market intelligence to anticipate and capitalize on evolving trends and technological advancements, optimizing the sourcing footprint to drive strategic advantage.
  • Collaborate with various Indirect Procurement categories to identify market trends for various spend categories and utilize this knowledge to support internal customers, evaluating financial aspects of key cost drivers using published industry data.
  • Champion a culture of relentless pursuit of excellence, leveraging deep insights into internal business processes and functional strategies to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Determine how much businesses and regions should spend on indirect materials to remain competitive and productive, optimizing Q&P approaches while challenging the status quo.
  • Drive co-creation/DfX with Business and Regional Leadership to solve business challenges while creating a pipeline of new productivity opportunities.
  • Collect qualitative & quantitative demand from Business and Region to help design category strategies.

You're the right fit if you have:

  • Minimum 20 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree OR minimum 15 years of experience with a Master's degree in areas such as Strategic Planning, Category Management, Market Analysis, Supplier Negotiations, and Portfolio Optimization or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in Procurement preferred.
  • A seasoned, business-savvy leader with confidence and autonomy to drive strategic initiatives across global businesses and regions, with a background in either procurement or finance business partnering.
  • Solid understanding of financial drivers and business performance.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to Philips’ business, culture, and operating model.
  • Proven track record of engaging and influencing senior executives (ExCo, ExCo-1 & 2) in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing diverse, geographically distributed teams.
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and able to embed indirect procurement as a strategic partner across business units and regions.
