Product Developer (Coffee & Beverages)

We’re looking for a Coffee & Beverages Product Developer to join our team and drive product innovation at Wakuli. In this key role, where you’ll report to the Head of Product & Ops, you’ll combine creativity with structured project management to turn ideas into successful products. You’ll work across teams from marketing and sourcing to operations and finance to guide each concept from first idea to market launch. Your goal: ensure every new product meets consumer needs, fits our brand strategy, and is delivered on time and within costs. In short, your work will directly shape the future of coffee and the impact we make.

You would be working from our roastery in Watergang, just outside of Amsterdam Noord.

About Wakuli
We love great coffee. That’s why we’re building an alternative coffee industry that actually works. For both farmers and consumers.

How? By working directly with farmer groups around the world. We set up transparent, traceable export lines, roast the beans ourselves and sell the coffee straight to customers. So no unnecessary middlemen or resellers. Those short supply chains make sure farmers always get a good price.

You’ll find us in 18 (and counting) bars across the Netherlands, and online through our own platform. For customers, that means freshly roasted specialty coffee that’s easy to access, relatively affordable and just seriously delicious.

Job requirements

What you’ll do

• Spot what’s next: research and anticipate market trends, uncover what coffee lovers want, and translate insights into opportunities
• Create and innovate: design and test new coffee and beverage concepts for our retail range and coffee bars, from the first idea to the perfect final product
• Lead the charge: bring together marketing, sourcing, operations and finance to make great ideas happen, on time and on budget
• Own the journey: drive the full product development process: concept, testing, production, and a smooth commercial launch
• Guard our standards: ensure every new product meets food safety, legal and quality requirements while staying true to our brand

What You Bring

• Project leadership: strong skills in planning, prioritizing, and aligning multiple stakeholders to deliver on time
• Communication: excellent written and spoken English; able to bring ideas across clearly and confidently
• Mindset: analytical and structured, yet creative and market-oriented: you know how to balance data with intuition
• Proven track record: experience in product development within FMCG, food & beverage, or hospitality
• Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology or a related field is a plus
• Quality & safety awareness: familiarity with HACCP or food safety standards is a plus
