Front-end Software Engineer Internship bij ABN AMRO

At a glance

Are you looking for a challenging internship with the chance of really working alongside a full stack development team? This is it! Team PieOneers is responsible for creating and maintaining several ABN AMRO websites (e.g. abnarmo.com and abnamrolease.com) with CMS system Contentful. When you join the team, you can help implement new features that will make our visitors happy, you can improve our code base by implementing tests or you can set up a developer dashboard to improve our way of working. In short, there are a lot of possibilities, and you can make this internship the perfect fit for your ambitions.

Your job

  • Collaborate in development of features for our open domain websites in VueJS and Nuxt.
  • Engage in diverse projects, gaining exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance our digital solutions.
  • Contribute to quality assurance for existing code by writing automated tests.
  • (Re)create a knowledge centre for content editors using our technology.

Your working environment

As a full-stack team, we are a group of backend, frontend, and cloud engineers, a Product Owner (PO), and a UX designer. We have a wide range of nationalities in the team and work in a hybrid set up. Our stakeholders are content editors and marketeers maintaining website content and teams eager to onboard onto our platform. And we share a love for pie, hence our name!

Your profile

Your Qualifications:

  • Educational Background in IT related field, preferably with some software engineering expertise.
  • Looking for an internship with a flexible starting date, for a minimum of 20 weeks, available at least 4 days a week.
  • You are enrolled in a Dutch college/university for the duration of the internship.
  • Able to come to our office located in Amsterdam Zuid at least 2x a week.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Your Skills:

  • Understanding of frontend development with coding languages such as JavaScript, VueJS/Nuxt and HTML/CSS.
  • Backend (Java) and/or quality assurance knowledge are a big plus.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and DevOps are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Eagerness to grow and gain hands-on experience.
