For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a full-time Learning & Development Operations Lead in our Network Training and Development Division.

The Yamaha Motor Academy is responsible for retail operation education (Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Service, Parts & Accessories) and provides for all training programs and courses in 18 languages to around 3,000 dealers across Europe. To give our dealers a competitive advantage in their marketplace, enabling them to provide the best Customer Experience as well as running a profitable business, the Yamaha Motor Academy offers a blended learning journey composed by business and technical trainings applied to real-life business situations, designed to advance dealers’ skills in an engaging and fun way. The online and offline courses of the Yamaha Motor Academy are accessible and highly engaging. Based on the latest education methodologies and technologies, our courses ensure that each learning journey has a great mix of on-the-job learning, entertaining e-learnings, social and cooperative interactions as well as more conventional workshops. YME works with a state-of-art Learning Experience Platform (LXP) from Docebo, custom-fit for YME purposes. As a member of the Learning & Development team, the L&D Operations Lead is responsible for the continuous development, design, maintenance, updates, requirement gathering, analysis, security and support of the YME LXP platform and associated applications.

About the role:

In our Network Training & Development Division, you will lead the L&D Operations team, currently comprising of 5 team members with plans for expansion. You have a pivotal role in determining the direction, the planning and execution of all L&D activities, the continuous development and effective operation of our Learning Experience Platform, facilitation of online and classroom training programs for all Yamaha Motor dealers across Europe. Under the umbrella of the Yamaha Motor Academy you will work in a team with our national distributors, but also together with our internal Product Group stakeholders and Program Developers to ensure that all Yamaha Motor Academy programs & trainings are carried out according plan in each country. This starts with agreeing the national plans, KPI’s and the relevant budgets, together with country management to national execution including the local arrangements to efficiently and effectively carry out on-location physical classroom trainings when necessary.

You will also secure the quality & results of the L&D operations by continuously measuring the learning progress, analyse and report to ensure that local and pan-European goals are met, but also to ensure continuous program improvements and that learning needs are met.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Implement Yamaha Motor Europe L&D strategy and tactics in European countries through harmonization & standardization – lead change processes;
  • Set long-term goals per distributor - draw up formation, budget, annual (training) plans and KPI’s together with country management;
  • Lead the L&D Operations team;
  • Optimise annual planning and execution per distributor;
  • Securing correct national roll-out, timely execution and KPI achievement;
  • Planning of resources (trainer corps, facilities, materials);
  • Build and manage sustainable partnerships with L&D agencies, secure trainer agreements;
  • Coordinate national location & hotel bookings and invoicing together with Administration Coordinator;
  • Secure the quality of the L&D operations;
  • Analyse and report for training progress, program improvement & business efficiency;
  • Compare results with set standards and improve;
  • Follow up, plan and carry out required actions;
  • Ensure operation achievements stay within budget.

What do you bring?

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree (Business Management, PTH- Automotive, or Automotive engineering, affinity with our products and our business is an advantage);
  • Strong communicator and proven experience to lead a diverse team;
  • 4-5 years of experience working in a multi-disciplinary product distribution/retail network, we strongly prefer in the Motorcycle/Automotive industry;
  • 4-5 years’ experience in execution projects and or project management, preferably in the Motorcycle/Automotive industry;
  • Experience in managing an educational multi-stakeholder partnership structure;
  • Organizational and time management skills to successfully manage timelines with minimal supervision;
  • Experience managing budget, deliverables and milestones;
  • Ability to effectively evaluate key performance indicators in order to identify potential areas of improvement;
  • Knowledge in learning management systems or learning experience platforms is an asset;
  • Able to work with computers and MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint);
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English verbally and in writing, an additional language is a plus;
  • Excellent PR and positive customer service attitude, result-driven, enthusiastic, pro-active, hands-on mentality and well organized;
  • Driving license B and a flexible attitude towards working hours and prepared to travel abroad;
