We are seeking an experienced Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to lead/colead process improvement initiatives within our Danone Zone Europe QFS - Quality in Design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving significant Quality & Food Safety improvements and deliver superior new product in projects for our global product categories (Waters, Dairy, Plant Based, First Diet) by utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, build and lead the deployment in Zone Europe of the next generation Danone SPC continuous improvement network. As a Black Belt, you will manage high-impact projects, mentor and build the Six Sigma/SPC governance, and influence stakeholders to foster a culture of Excellence in Execution and Continuous Improvement.

This position can be based in Gif-sur-Yvette or in Danone Place Amsterdam.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prioritize, and lead/colead complex, cross-functional Lean Six Sigma projects to improve product and package consistent Right-First-time delivery of quality attributes, reduce waste, increase throughput, drive quality excellence and cost reduction.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to enhance product superiority by design, improve process stability and capability, focusing on reducing variability, center-lining and eliminating non-value-added activities.
  • Establish systems to collect, interpret, and analyze data to identify trends, root causes of process issues, and opportunities for improvement. Use statistical tools to validate improvements and ensure sustainability.
  • Support the design of the Danone Global SPC QC tools and systems and lead the deployment of the SPC network across Zone Europe.
  • Develop and implement product, process and defect reduction strategies.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to project team members to build Lean Six Sigma capabilities across the organization in the scope of quality by design and continuous excellence.
  • Develop and deploy impactful SPC train-the-trainer modules in Zone Europe.
  • By collaborating with department heads, process engineers, and other stakeholders lead the change management efforts to implement data driven mindset, right by design and process improvements effectively and systematically.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering and R&I teams to address process deviations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency, product quality, waste reduction, and project success rates.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the adoption of Six Sigma, Statistical Process Controls and Lean methodologies at all levels of the organization.

Compliance:

  • Complies with company Quality and Food Safety policies, procedures, and arrangements.
  • Ensure and maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and project outcomes to support regulatory compliance and audits.
  • Report metrics, trends and conditions associated with non-compliance to Danone standards and opportunities for improvement.

Problem Solving and Innovation:

  • Active participation in continuous improvement activities
  • Participates in cross functional problem-solving
  • Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
  • Effectively coordinates internal- and external Six Sigma/SPC Subject Matter Expert (SME) resources to enable the deployment of the Danone Zone Europe SPC agenda
  • Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
  • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and present detailed, roadmaps, deployment plans, progress reports, process performance, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate key metrics and performance trends.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of Six Sigma projects and SPC activities, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas requiring attention.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and support for improvement initiatives.

Qualifications/Desired Skills

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master of Science (Ms.C) degree in minimum one of the below educational areas:
  • Applied Engineering of Technology, SPC Quality engineering, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required.

Experience:

  • Min 5 years of experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or related roles within the food, chemical, automotive or pharmaceutical processing industry.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP), process automation technologies and data analytics landscape.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, Lean tools and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficient in data analysis, statistical software (e.g., Minitab…), and process simulation tools.
  • Excellent cross functional collaboration and PMO skills
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of driving tangible results.
  • Travel up to 50%
