Your impact at MUFG

You will support and/or conduct Credit Control administrative & reporting tasks, assigned to the Middle Office Division and as such to assist in the management, monitoring and control of the bank’s Credit, Market and Liquidity Risk transaction portfolio.

Main tasks comprise:

  • Static credit data processing such as credit customer info, credit limits, terms and (special) conditions/instructions, covenants and collateral.
  • Control/monitoring/reporting on compliance with internal rule/regulations framework prior to credit limit set-up and credit disbursement such as credit documentation, covenants and collateral vs. approved credit terms and conditions/instructions/required credit reports, due date calendar of credit approvals, borrower ratings & collateral.

Function positioning

The function forms part of the bank’s Middle Office Division (MOD), which main task consists of the controls, monitoring and reporting in relation with the bank’s credit and market risk transaction and product portfolio in order to safeguard compliance with the bank’s credit rules, policies and guidelines as well as the regulatory framework and administration.

The Division employs 6 functions:

  • Middle Office Planning (MOP)
  • Treasury Middle Office (TMO)
  • Credit Middle Office (CMO)
  • Middle Office Department – DSS (MOD-DSS)
  • Product Management Coordination (PMC)
  • Supply Chain Finance Middle Office (SCF-MO)

The role includes the following:

  • Entry & Verification of credit/market other risk, collateral & customer (static) data in the bank’s used applications if required;
  • Review facility and other credit agreements to handle pre-disbursement checks for the JCBD/GCBD client portfolios in MBE branches.
  • Conduct or coordinating Head Office reporting for all MBE branches.
  • Creating monthly control reports for Front Office on timely manner.
  • Managing control reports for monitoring covenants and credit instructions, reports and conditions.
  • Managing IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss reports, including the handling of staging and required control and credit data overrides Managing improvement of data quality
  • Contribute to the completion of the team’s workload;
  • Ensure that the daily workflow processing is up to date and accurate;
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank’s rules, policies, procedures and guidelines together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Provide advice and guidance to junior team members including motivation, support and the sharing of best practice as appropriate
  • Where appropriate, co-ordinate and escalate significant incidents in order to minimize the consequences and facilitate the recovery of the bank’s resources.
  • Adapt to and identify changes in systems, processes and working practices in order to achieve operational improvement.
  • Counter party for MBE branches to enhance the good relationship with each MBE branch, and guiding Overseas Credit Rules to RM.
  • Enhancement of control of documentation

The tasks described above, apply to the business of the MBE Amsterdam office and its branches

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

Skills and experience:

  • University/HBO level (professional economic/business administrative education).
  • Experience in a similar function or relevant area
  • Knowledge of and experience with automated database storage and processing and desktop IT skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Team player with a flexible and collaborative attitude
