An exciting vacancy has arisen within our Group Procurement team for a Group Commodity Manager, to join the team.

Your mission

Reporting directly to the Global Procurement Manager - Commodities, the main purpose of this role is to support the Group Procurement Director in the delivery of BDR Thermea's procurement strategy, in line with Group Principles for all areas of direct spend.

Who will you be working with?
The Group Commodity Manager will report to the Global Procurement Manager - Commodities, and is responsible for efficiently executing purchasing processes. This will involve driving strategic procurement initiatives, evaluating suppliers, managing relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, engaging in administrative activities, and supporting contract management processes.

The Commodity Manager will work to support all sites and BDU's across the Group, and manage the relationship with Group suppliers on behalf of BDR Thermea.

On a daily basis you’ll be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Contributing to Commodity sourcing strategies and ensuring alignment with procurement policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for global strategy for the appropriate commodities area.
  • Owning the preferred supplier list for the appropriate commodities area.
  • Delivering sustainability targets across the commodity area.
  • Managing strategic relationships with Group Suppliers on behalf of BDR Thermea.
  • Negotiating global contracts on behalf of BDR Thermea.
  • Observing and enforcing purchasing ethics.
  • Suggesting and working with the procurement leadership team to establish process improvements, contributing to implementation and adherence on-site.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and informing relevant stakeholders about this performance under the guidance of procurement leadership.
  • Identifying stakeholder requirements and supporting the execution of Commodity plans.
  • Identifying and actioning cost-reduction opportunities and procedures.
  • Liaising closely with key stakeholders to determine their requirements, providing input into the sourcing process. Ensuring end-users requirements are sufficiently detailed in an appropriate format.
  • Working with Group quality to ensure adherence to global targets.

  • Team Working: able to collaborate and communicate across multi-functional matrix teams.
  • Negotiation: Prepares for and applies a range of negotiating tactics to achieve win-win commercial and non-commercial outcomes.
  • Supply base management: Segments the supply base to optimise the number and mix of suppliers to direct resource investments accordingly.
  • Procurement due diligence: Ensures the organisation and its suppliers enter contracts aware of the relevant deliverables, timescales, costs, risks and other commitments.
  • Working with data: Proficient in collecting, handling, analysing and presenting various types of data.
