Internship: Internal Communications

Join our team and develop yourself in a central role within the organization, gaining hands-on experience in Communications. As part of the International Region team, you'll learn about various communication areas with support from seasoned experts to help you grow professionally.

Your role:

  • Assist in creating and distributing internal newsletters and announcements.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and provide improvement suggestions.
  • Support the team in delivering on our Playing to Win mindset and Impact with Care culture.
  • Support the development of engaging content for internal communication platforms including the intranet, Viva Engage, Newscast, and Social Daily.

You're the right fit if:

  • Currently studying towards your University Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Communications, Media & Design Communications, or Digital Communications.
  • Well-developed communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess communication metrics and effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms (e.g., social media, intranet systems, video editing tools).
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement and positive change.

In return, we offer you

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the landlord, and your normal home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) needs to be more than 1.5 hours.
  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €145,- net.
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop.

IMPORTANT:

Part of our selection procedure is a HireVue online interview recording. We are not able to share the outcome of this HireVue interview but will use this as extra selection criteria.

In order to be considered, you have to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation will be requested. Students from outside the EU enrolled at a Dutch university need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement – which needs to be signed by the student and the university.

Please note that the contents of our regular internship assignments are not suitable for professionals (and/or MBA students) with professional work experience.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This role is an office role.
