Unilever is hiring for a Senior Reward Manager covering the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.

Job purpose

In this challenging position, you will be responsible for designing, developing and activating total reward programs and policies for 3 of our business group led countries – Netherlands, Belgium and France. You provide business insight and develop flexible and innovative solutions and risk analysis. You will be an expert offering insights and challenge while delivering solutions flawlessly.

Responsibilities

This role will report to the Reward Business Partner Lead (Europe, PTAB, Isreal) and have responsibilities the cover Netherlands, Belgium and France. The role sits within Country LT.

Main Focus:

  • Develop and deliver on multi-year strategy which drives the evolution of compensation and benefits in Netherlands, Belgium and France geographies.

  • Manages the Annual Pay Review process (pay, bonus and shares) for Netherlands, Belgium and France, ensuring both internal and external audit compliance.

  • Analyses annual benchmarking recommendations received from Global Reward to make recommendations on market review budgets and pay scale movement taking to consideration any financial implications and competitiveness.

  • Oversee any regulatory reporting requirements such EU Pay Transparency for Netherlands, Belgium and France.

  • Manage any other reporting requirements such as living wage annual review for Netherlands, Belgium and France as part of the global process.

  • Provides counsel to Human Resources colleagues on compensation and benefits related issues including being the escalation point of contact for queries on reward policy and processes.

  • Keep up to date with relevant standards, legislative and regulatory changes and other policy developments, processes and tools in so far as they impact reward.

  • Lead on specific Reward projects/priorities for Netherlands, Belgium and France.

  • Develops and implements local reward communication framework. Leads Reward training to HR and the business on compensation and benefit policies and programs.

  • Lead and manage local benefits including supplier relationships, ensure they comply to Unilever standards, ensuring they remain relevant whilst seeking to implement new benefits which help Unilever attract and retain the best talent.

  • Support and manage auditing and reporting requirements for Reward processes ensure we always remain compliant.

  • Work as part of the wider Global Reward team leading and supporting on Reward global and regional projects as well as wider Expertise and Innovation projects as required.

  • Engage and connect with external reward networks within Europe to help stay relevant and abreast of changes.

  • Line Management of one direct report plus access to a team of Reward Specialists across Europe.

  • You’re a culture & change champion: We continuously review our reward structure and policies to adapt to the needs of the business as well as the external market. This role will be a change leader, helping to communicate and implement new Reward offerings in addition to changes to existing policies.

What you will need to succeed

  • Qualified to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Proven ability to communicate with employee representative groups such as Trade Unions, and local/European Works Councils. Please note, negotiation with employee representatives will not be required.

  • Senior reward experience required preferably in an FMCG but not mandatory. This implies fundamental knowledge about Reward structure, main elements of reward, experience of salary review process and working with salary surveys (ideally Hay & Mercer) is essential.

  • Proven experience with leading Key projects in a prior Reward position.

  • Experience of partnering up to a senior level.

  • Excellent command of MS Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi.

  • Clearly able to convey information using strong communication and presentation skills, appropriate for the target audience (face to face as well as via virtual meetings).

  • Fluent English skills (orally and written). Conversational Dutch and/or French would be beneficial but not mandatory.

  • Takes personal responsibility to consistently focus on quality work, in an environment where accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.

  • Team player who can quickly build mutually respectful and trusting working relationships with internal and external stakeholders also in an international and virtual environment. Includes contributing to Global Reward priority projects and active participation in Reward community discussions.

  • Can demonstrate strong initiative and exercise good judgement and resourcefulness.

  • Personally credible: Builds and delivers professionalism through combining business and HR expertise to bring value to the organisation, stakeholders and peers.

  • Role Model: Acts with integrity, impartiality and independence, balancing organisation and legal parameters.

  • Deals with personal data and information in a highly professional manner and within the boundaries of relevant legislation, such as Data Protection.

  • Knowledge/experience of using Agile working methodologies would be helpful but not mandatory.
