Stage opdracht: Robust domain adaption for Deep Learning models

Jouw opdracht

• Demcon Defense & Security Systems is developing unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and occasionally also Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for various projects and purposes, including autonomous outdoor, off-road navigation.
• The vehicles also make use of Deep Learning (DL) models. One of the main problems with these models is their reliability in situations where the training domain is not fully aligned with the target domain. For example, when changes in sensors are made, or training was (partially) done with synthetic data, or data from a different location or season.
• Your assignment would consist of researching scientific literature for approaches to make models more robust against (small) changes in domain. Implementing one or more of these strategies and show the improved robustness of the new approach using one of our existing platforms.
