The Manager Subregional Service Business Poultry, GME is responsible for customer management and service sales in the subregion.

  • Responsible for achieving set service sales targets (including service contracts, services, and spare parts) for all installed base in the sub-region, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage both short and long-term plans for the sub-region, covering sales, customer support, management, and team development. The Manager also supports the development of the regional budget and target setting.
  • Deploy the agreed plan to successfully achieve all goals for the sub-region and support the fulfillment of the region’s objectives.
  • Manage, motivate, and support the Backoffice commercial team in the sub-region, including external sales, internal sales, and supporting roles. Drive teamwork, engagement, customer focus, and proactiveness.
  • Direct reporting lines include Customer Support Coordinators (CSC), Spare Parts Coordinators (SPC), and Service Contract Coordinator (SCC).
  • Provide hands-on support to CSC in sales and customer management when needed.
  • Ensure all customer touchpoints are aligned and that the defined customer journey expectations are communicated and understood by the commercial team, other functions, and customers in the sub-region.
  • Foster close collaboration, alignment, and knowledge sharing with other commercial teams, functional teams, regional Directors Sales (equipment sales), and Division/Service Area Managers (SAM) in the subregion.
  • Ensure commercial escalation is handled as agreed and that all members of the sub-region commercial team know and follow the escalation process.
  • Drive the build-up of market and customer knowledge for the subregion. Ensure all business intelligence and opportunity management data (such as CRM, customer reports, installed base, and sales reports) are up to date for the sub-region.
  • The Manager Subregional Service Business Poultry, GME reports to the regional Service Business Director.

Main Tasks

  • Build and actively lead a customer-focused and proactive commercial team in the sub-region to reach sales and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Drive effectiveness and consistency in the commercial team’s operations by applying both global processes and local best practices. Ensure continuous sales, product, process, and equipment training for the team.
  • Direct responsibility for all staff reporting into the role, including:
    • Setting measurable targets and creating a performance culture of continuous improvement.
    • Coaching staff to ensure goals are achieved and engagement is driven.
    • Reviewing performance against agreed KPIs and conducting annual reviews.
    • Addressing shortfalls and initiating performance turn-around actions.
    • Providing input to the regional Manager Service Business on incentives or promotions.
    • Communicating any concerns to HR/regional Manager Service Business.
  • Analyze market potential, customers, competitive situation, installed base, and existing business in the sub-region, and develop short and long-term business plans for services to achieve set targets.
  • Support the Service Business Director in preparing the Operational Plan and budget for service in the region.
  • Drive execution of the business plan to ensure sales targets, as well as customer and employee satisfaction, are achieved.
  • Assist CCMs with closing orders, evaluating visits, providing feedback, and setting plans.
  • In collaboration with CCM, develop and maintain relationships with key customers.
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers to ensure opportunities are captured and that Marel approaches customers in an aligned way.
  • Promote consistency in working methods, knowledge, and best practice sharing through close cooperation with other sub-regions and service functions.
  • Support cooperation with Service Area Managers (SAM) and industry teams.
  • Work with CCM and CSC in escalations in the sub-region when necessary, following defined processes.
  • Frequent travel within the region and internationally is expected as required.
  • Other duties as assigned according to business needs.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent commercial skills, including sales, with a proven track record as a business leader in an aftermarket services environment.
  • Strong people management skills and self-motivation.
  • Outgoing personality with a strong ability to interact with customers and teams.
  • Proven experience and a strong desire to lead a team of customer-facing staff, both internal and external sales.
  • Ability to understand service products and concepts, and consult with customers and colleagues on available solutions.
  • Analytical, results-driven, and goal-oriented.
  • Structured approach with the ability to drive adherence to global service processes.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SAP, etc.
  • Experience with sophisticated food processing equipment or food processing is preferred; experience from other machine or technology industries is also valued.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or Business Administration or similar preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated leadership, people management, commercial (including sales), professionalism, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in commercial management and sales in service business (aftermarket) roles in a B2B environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in the food industry preferred.
