Business Engineering internship: improving operations and lean projects

ASML’s Manufacturing Organization is responsible for the manufacturing and installation of advanced lithography systems and supports their ongoing maintenance and upgrades. Together with more than 9,000 colleagues worldwide, we continuously improve quality and cost efficiency by driving operational excellence. In this dynamic and international environment, we are looking for an intern to support the Global Manufacturing Operational Excellence Team in addressing Business Performance and LEAN improvement challenges. Your contribution will help strengthen coordination between factories and corporate departments while enhancing performance tracking.

Your assignment

You will join the Global Manufacturing Operational Excellence Team, which focuses on coordinating, improving, and challenging the way ASML factories operate. This team works closely with Competence Centers, where global and factory representatives collaborate to achieve process improvements across ASML. Your main focus will be to work alongside two senior experts to improve global cooperation and performance management, ultimately strengthening coordination between factories in the areas of Business Engineering and LEAN. Key deliverables include:

• Support in creating Business Performance insights through dashboards and visualizations.
• Investigate and analyze communication within multiple Competence Centers and provide recommendations to improve coordination.
• Facilitate communication between factories and Global Manufacturing in the Competence Centers for Business Engineering and LEAN.
• Help promote the ambitions and deliverables of these two Competence Centers.

This is an internship (non-thesis) between 4 to 6 months. It requires an investment of 32-40 hours per week, out of which 3 days per week are onsite in Veldhoven. It is set to start in February 2026.

Your profile

To be a perfect match you:

• Are a bachelor or master student in Business Administration, Business Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field.
• Have affinity with business transformation or change management, and working in a tech environment.
• Are a strong communicator and able to communicate English at a professional level.
• Are proactive, independent, and detail-oriented.
• Are enthusiastic about working in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Other requirements you need to meet:

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
• You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
