(Medior) Data Validator / Risk Specialist

Join our dynamic team as a Data Validator / Risk Specialist and play a central role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our data and risk reporting processes, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with stakeholders across the bank, from business units to senior management, and contribute to our mission of sustainable, data-driven decision-making.

Your Team

You will be part of the Independent Validation Unit PERDARR, a new collaborative team of risk specialists within the bank, where you will get the opportunity to strengthen your talents and bring the best of yourself. We are part of the Non-Financial Risk Management department within the Risk Management function.

PERDARR (BCBS 239) is a regulation from the Basel Committee that presents a set of principles aiming at strengthening banks’ governance frameworks, risk data aggregation capabilities and internal risk reporting practices. Within ASN Bank, being PERDARR compliant is also very much aligned with our strategic ambitions, as good data quality is an essential enabler for achieving our strategic objectives.

Your Job

Your primary responsibility will be conducting assessments on the organization’s (risk) data aggregation capabilities and practices by taking BCBS239 principles as the benchmark. In this role, you will:

• Validate and Challenge: Perform independent validation of critical data products and risk reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate and Influence: Work with diverse teams to assess governance, IT infrastructure, risk data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices. Your recommendations will directly shape our risk management practices.
• Drive Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, policies, and data and reporting quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Stay Ahead: Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practices, translating complex requirements into actionable insights.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

• University degree (Master’s preferred) in Econometrics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• 7-10 years of experience in model validation, risk management, audit, or data engineering, preferably in the financial sector.
• Experience with developing (predictive) models, Data Pipelines and BI dashboards.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL tools, ETL tools, Business Intelligence tools, Python, and data modelling tools.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with BCBS 239, BIS, EBA, CRD, or IFRS is highly valued.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a bonus.

• The gross annual salary for this position is between € 79.982,- and € 106.642,67 (job scale 11) based on a 36-hour work week (including 13th month and holiday allowance).
• 36-hour work week.
