Internship Opportunity in ASML’s Tooling & Packaging Department

The Tooling & Packaging department within ASML plays a vital role in designing and industrializing the equipment and packaging used to assemble our high-tech machines. These assets are essential to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production processes. While purchase price is often the first cost considered, it’s only part of the story. To truly optimize spending, we need to understand the costs of logistics, maintenance, and repair. We are looking for a proactive and analytical intern who is eager to dive into this cost story and help us uncover opportunities for smarter, more sustainable decisions.

Your Assignment

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cost analysis and cross-functional collaboration. You will be tasked with analyzing costs of a set of tooling and packaging used in ASML’s production environment. Your work will go beyond purchase price and include logistics, maintenance, and repair costs.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from:

  • Sourcing & Procurement – to understand supplier contracts and cost structures
  • Design & Engineering – to assess technical specifications and design impact
  • Planning & Delivery – to evaluate operational usage and logistics flows
  • Tooling & Packaging Suppliers – to evaluate current repair and maintenance costs

Your final deliverable will be a strategic report that visualizes cost breakdowns and provides concrete recommendations for cost savings.

This is a bachelor/master internship or bachelor thesis internship for a duration of minimum 5-6 months and minimum 4 days per week. The start date is preferably in January or February 2026.

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyze cost components across procurement, logistics, maintenance, and repair
  • Collect and interpret data from internal systems and stakeholders
  • Build a cost model and visualize insights using tools like Power BI or Excel
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, actionable report
  • Identify and recommend areas for cost reduction based on your analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate assumptions and explore improvement opportunities

Your Profile

To be a match with this internship, you:

  • Are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Have strong analytical skills and a structured working approach
  • Are familiar with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Are a strong communicator and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Are proactive and curious, with a hands-on mentality

Additional Requirements

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • You are located in the Netherlands or willing to relocate for the internship
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the necessary documents (e.g., Nuffic agreement)

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
