The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for the daily execution and delivery of an exceptional customer experience, leading to consistent customer excellence and satisfaction. Through regular and frequent direct interaction with our customers, you will gain a clear understanding of customer requirements and expectations, as well as their business development. In this role, you will engage in proactive customer communication and problem resolution, and, in parallel with relevant stakeholders, ensure that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. You are also responsible for focusing on customer growth and maximizing profitability for your customer portfolio.

How you create impact

  • Own the customer relationship and shipment process, driving efficient file handling and ensuring the availability of customer data and requirements so stakeholder teams can deliver according to customer expectations, while ensuring regulatory and compliance adherence.
  • Monitor shipments consistently, maintain proactive customer communication, and effectively handle and respond to customer feedback, complaints, and escalations, ensuring swift corrective actions.
  • Promote awareness and usage of customer-facing digital solutions, participate in training as needed to stay up-to-date, and encourage Kuehne+Nagel portal usage within your customer portfolio.
  • When assigned to customer implementations (as support or lead), actively involve and ensure participation by Operations, Revenue Care, and Operations Optimization teams as required, and participate in Global Customer Implementation Methodology scalable trainings.
  • Stay on top of customer retention, manage and develop customer growth, and drive maximization of profitability with a high focus on spot quotation execution and fast response times. Follow up quickly on spot quotes to increase the hit ratio, upsell and promote Kuehne+Nagel products, monitor customer trends and ongoing Gross Profit analysis, and liaise with stakeholders responsible for procurement.

What we would like you to bring

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within Air logistics freight forwarding.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to set priorities and distinguish main issues from side issues.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • A customer- and service-oriented attitude combined with a commercial mindset.
  • Preference for working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize and shift gears quickly.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing; Dutch is an asset.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Availability for 40 hours per week (less is not possible).
