The ISV BDR Role

The ISV (Independent Software Vendor) team is investing heavily to take advantage of a rapidly expanding market to work with software vendors as they look to bring their solutions to market. If you constantly strive for excellence, are passionate about digital innovation and want to learn the ropes of sophisticated sales within the dynamic world of SaaS partnerships, all while working in a highly motivated and successful team - then Mendix and this role is for you!

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will be part of a high-performance and most of all FUN culture team. You will be instrumental in identifying and engaging with innovative SaaS companies and software vendors who can leverage the Mendix platform to build and scale their offerings. This means you will be the first point of contact for prospects from our sophisticated demand generating activities (inbound) as well as responsible for your own outbound efforts. You will work within our well-structured Sales Cycle to carry out initial qualification of ISV prospects.

You will learn how to navigate sophisticated sales processes and receive mentorship where needed while executing the following activities:

  • Follow-up and qualifying Sales Leads
  • Work closely with Account Managers and our Marketing team
  • Conduct account/market planning and research
  • Set-up outbound mailing & calling campaigns
  • Represent Mendix at industry events
  • Find the right decision makers and influencers within ISV accounts
  • Set and conduct qualifying meetings with prospects
  • Learn how to ask the right questions to find out if an opportunity is a Mendix-fit according to a set of criteria – which is pivotal in becoming a sales person
  • Establish customer relationships with the "decision making unit" and other influencers
  • Conduct regular handovers of opportunities with Account Managers

The innovator we need:

  • 2-4 years experience working in software sales as a SDR/BDR or Inside Sales
  • Excellent verbal and written English communications skills
  • You strive for excellence, have a growth-mindset, and have a keen interest in the SaaS ecosystem
