About the role

As Global Procurement Manager - Operations, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing global procurement strategies across key operational categories, including Logistics, CAPEX, and MRO, in alignment with Versuni’s growth objectives. This strategic role requires a strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering results, as well as the capability to cultivate effective partnerships with both internal stakeholders and the external supply base to drive best-in-class performance in cost efficiency and service levels. This position reports directly to the Head of Indirect Procurement and oversees a team from Versuni’s outsourced procurement partner (3 sourcing leads and 2 CoE support members).

The impact you’ll make

Category ownership & value delivery:

  • Lead the development and execution of global category strategies for Operations, with a key focus on Logistics services—including warehousing, transportation, and ocean/air freight.
  • Ensure alignment of category plans with Versuni’s broader strategic objectives, including growth, risk management, and service level optimization.
  • Drive the identification and delivery of cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the team.

Sourcing, contracting & supplier management:

  • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of sourcing events for logistics and operations, providing guidance and support to the team as needed.
  • Support in leading negotiations with key strategic suppliers to secure the most optimal terms and value.
  • Drive the development and improvements of supplier management frameworks, standard contract templates, and risk assessment protocols within the category.

Stakeholder management & cross-functional collaboration:

  • Partner closely with key internal stakeholders (logistics/operations, finance, legal) and communicate category strategies and results effectively to senior leadership.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing guidance to the business on strategic decisions, managing escalations, and resolving complex procurement issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the category and support procurement excellence for operations (through enhanced processes such as optimized buying channels, spend monitoring, tail management, saving reports, etc.).

People & team leadership:

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the team from Versuni’s outsourced partner to enhance their performance.
  • Accountable for ensuring maximum value is realized from collaboration with the outsourced partner, escalating issues to the Head of Indirect Procurement as necessary.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in indirect procurement, with a strong focus on logistics—particularly in ocean freight and warehousing (ideally with at least 4-5 years working on those categories).
  • Proven expertise in managing global categories, with hands-on experience in executing RFQs and using leading procurement tools (such as Ariba, Coupa, Archlet, etc.).
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong communication & stakeholder management skills—proven ability to articulate strategies, negotiate effectively, and build strong relationships across functions.
  • Analytical thinking & problem solving—skilled in analyzing complex data sets, making data-driven decisions, and resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Strategic thinking—demonstrated ability to align category strategies with broader organizational objectives and long-term business goals.
  • Resilience & agility—comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing change; adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Leading & influencing people—experienced in mentoring & coaching team members, driving high performance, and influencing both internal and external stakeholders to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
