At Gradyent we're looking for a FP&A Analyst to join our team.

Who we are

A quarter of all energy in the world is consumed to heat buildings. District heating is the most significant opportunity for cities to decarbonize. Gradyent is on a mission to help cities to decarbonize faster by digitizing district heating with our digital twin. Backed by a group of top investors, we are scaling the platform globally.

We currently have a team of 120+ people and offices in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, and Hungary. Our team combines programmers and energy specialists, data scientists and top-tier consulting alums.

What we do

We offer a SaaS solution to create digital twins of heating networks. These digital twins, powered by AI and analytics, optimize (district) heating networks from heat sources to customers. As a result, we are transforming networks by reducing CO2 emissions and optimizing operations in terms of temperatures, pressures, costs and other metrics.

What you will do

Gradyent has developed from a start-up to a scale-up. That makes it increasingly important that the right information for decision making is there at the right time: top quality financial management is key. As a FP&A Analyst in our finance department, you will be reporting directly to the Finance Director. You will develop and refine financial forecasts and budgets, helping Gradyent turn strategic objectives into reality, and you will provide analytical insights into our commercial performance in monthly reports. You will enable fact-based decision making in key strategic choices, e.g. by analyzing the profitability of our activities or by developing business cases for growth initiatives. Additionally, you will support corporate finance activities, including cash management and investor reporting.

Your structured thinking, your analytical sharpness and your crisp communication skills will help you develop insightful reports, presentations, and analyses for management and investors. By working interactively with stakeholders across the company, you quickly understand what piece of financial analysis will make the difference. You make sure to deliver this efficiently, either with impactful in-person communications or by enabling self-service analytics in a dashboarding environment.

What you will bring

  • Education & Certification: MSc, preferably in finance, accounting, data analytics, business, economics, or econometrics.

  • Experience: 2 to 6 years of Finance experience, e.g. as a consultant, analyst or controller.

  • Skills: A sharp analytical mind, with a structured, pro-active, pragmatic approach to problem solving. Effective collaborator, strong in project management, you get things done. You know how to create intelligent reporting to get insights from data and are a strong communicator, verbally and written.

  • Mindset: A passion for finance, numbers, and understanding the drivers of value creation. A keen interest in automating your work, using software tools to their full potential. Comfortable with ambiguity and changing scope.

  • Ambition: Strong personal development ambition, able to ask for help, open to feedback, embracing opportunities to grow.

What you will get

  • An international, human-centric, and inclusive company culture where you can have a direct impact on improving the environment.
  • An inspiring environment of brilliant, fun, creative colleagues and a fast and dynamic work environment open to new ideas.
  • An ambitious scale-up, backed by an international consortium of venture capital investors in the sustainable energy industry, on the path to a Series B funding round
  • A competitive salary with a variable incentive (SAR) on top; an excellent benefits package including a public transport card
  • A culture of high-performance while having fun (drinks, offsites, sports events) and a unique opportunity to shape your path in a fast-growing team
  • We invest in your personal growth – the team is competent at coaching, mentoring and development, entirely focused on you
  • Hybrid role with minimum 2 days in office in Rotterdam
  • Opportunity to work 80% in combination with studies (e.g. CFA)
