Introduction to the Job

Be part of progress. We are Applications, a dynamic business line within ASML, one of the world market leaders in scanning lithography technology. We create metrology equipment and full-stack software control products that operate in the most advanced semiconductor fabs globally, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

We are seeking a talented Group Team Leader to enhance our software development organization and lead the Wafer Flow Software group. If you thrive in a challenging environment and want to be part of one of the most densely populated communities of software specialists dedicated to conquering complexity with software, we would love to meet you!

Role and Responsibilities

Your mission in this role is to build and lead a strong team of software developers to develop and reliably deliver embedded control software for the wafer stage and wafer handler of our Yieldstar and Multibeam (MBI) metrology equipment. You will align with program management on the contents and staffing of activities within your scope, stimulate and facilitate the personal development of group members, and co-own the function roadmap. This role involves paving the way for our future products while improving the quality and structure of our software to reduce costs and improve time to market.

As the manager of the group, you will lead and manage a team of software developers responsible for the software that controls Yieldstar and MBI metrology equipment components. You will oversee the daily operations of the group, define the vision and roadmap, and execute it accordingly. You will safeguard our quality standards for all software deliveries to our customers and serve as the escalation channel for issues.

  • Optimize software development processes for quality and time to market.
  • Ensure the availability and adoption of best-known methods, standards, and tooling.
  • In cooperation with department managers and project managers, plan and allocate group members to various project activities.
  • Manage CapEx and OpEx according to agreed budgets, including farmout.
  • Ensure the group maintains a balanced focus on providing long- and short-term solutions.
  • Manage interaction and stakeholder relationships with diverse and relevant parties (multidisciplinary D&E groups, Holistic Applications, CS, and customers).
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of departmental policy and planning, including personnel, budgets, investments, resources, and methods.
  • Facilitate an effective learning feedback cycle and manage relationships with other competence owners within and outside ASML.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or Engineering, with a background in software development in a technical environment.
  • At least 3 years of relevant people leadership experience in a technical software development environment or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing, integrating, and testing complex multi-disciplinary software products.

Skills

  • High energy, highly motivated team player with excellent social, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Strong business sense with the ability to monitor and drive software project execution.
  • Ability to provide technical direction and motivate a team of professional engineers.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Pragmatic attitude.
