About this role

As Director of Sales, you will lead the Sales organisation of Thuisbezorgd, the largest on-demand food and convenience delivery platform in the Netherlands. As a senior executive within the business, you will primarily be responsible for driving the performance of our convenience, retail and restaurant partnerships and the leadership of your sales team in NL.

In this role, you will report directly to the Thuisbezorgd Country Director and be a member of the Country Management Team. You will deliver on Sales performance and plans, working cross-functionally with the broader management team to own outcomes and deliver on the country P&L. You will collaborate closely with global functional teams to connect local and global needs and initiatives, continuously improving knowledge, execution, and innovation within JET.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

  • Team leadership: Lead your Sales organisation across (strategic) account management, acquisition and other functions, driving and managing performance across multiple teams. Identify and improve under-performance, enabling teams to meet and exceed core KPIs.
  • Team development: Oversee our Sales Leadership team, which includes senior operators, offering support and guidance as needed. Apply best practices to unlock high performance from direct and indirect teams.
  • Performance management: Establish and own Sales KPIs, setting ambitious targets and reporting regularly on progress to country and global leadership.
  • Strategic development & execution: Spearhead the end-to-end sales strategy, from developing the data-driven vision to ensuring the timely execution of all strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the leadership team to co-define strategic initiatives, identifying prospective opportunities and gaps—especially in Marketing, Logistics, Strategy and HR. Serve as a senior leader across the business, providing thought leadership and guidance as required.
  • Networking and relationship-building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with our largest and strategically important partners, independently generating and driving opportunities for developing our partnerships.
  • P&L ownership: Define the Sales budget and run the Sales P&L, monitor financial performance, and act as a functional business partner to Finance.
  • Innovation: Provide visionary leadership, working proactively to identify potential for innovation and improvement within the Sales organisation, and Thuisbezorgd more broadly.

What will you bring to the table?

  • Substantial experience in a leadership position within a Sales organisation in food, retail and/or e-commerce in large-scale companies, responsible for managing multiple teams or departments.
  • Progressive and diverse career path with a history of achieving and exceeding KPIs set for your team and organisation, plus proven experience leading Sales teams through periods of change and/or transformation.
  • Ability to drive full-lifecycle sales performance—from acquisition and management to strategic growth—by leveraging data-driven commercial acumen to translate business strategy into effective execution.
  • Proven track record of P&L leadership, with assumed responsibility for a large P&L.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to sell the Thuisbezorgd brand and mission to Senior Executives at global leaders in food, retail and gastronomy.
  • A curious, resilient, and ambitious team-builder with a hands-on mentality who applies a sharp and structured approach to make things happen.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
