"I studied at Radboud University Nijmegen, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in European law (civiel effect) in 2018 and a master’s degree in European law in 2020. I also hold a master’s degree in (public international) law from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, USA. Since 2021, I work as an attorney at NautaDutilh, where I specialize in commercial and competition litigation and arbitration. In that role, I advise, negotiate and litigate on behalf of (international) (semi-)states and companies in cross-border disputes before the Dutch courts. I love working as an attorney. The international atmosphere, the novel legal avenues and the factual puzzles combined with the goal to win the case for the client is a real thrill. I like that I am able to work in high stakes cases in multidisciplinary teams. I also value making broader impact. Beyond my commercial work I am therefore also a member of the NautaDutilh’s Pro Bono Committee, I am chair of the Foundation Mamita Alice and I volunteer for Lawyers for Lawyers."
Maren Klein, attorney at NautaDutilh
Timo Hieselaar is working as an attorney at bureau Brandeis specialising in European competition law and regulated markets. In addition to his work in the context of cartels, abuse of power, distribution agreements and (second phase) merger notifications, Timo particularly focuses on complex issues surrounding competition litigation, including class actions and follow-on cartel damages proceedings, as well as private international law matters. In addition, Timo has affinity with digital (platform) markets, the sports sector and the Dutch Security Screening Act (‘Wet Vifo’). He assists companies in both European and national administrative law proceedings, as well as in competition litigation.
“I work as legal counsel for DLL, a financial institution that is part of the Rabobank Group. My main focus is on Regulatory Affairs, an area of the legal department that deals with the analysis and implementation of various EU regulations within our organisation. What I enjoy most about my job is putting into practice the knowledge of EU law I gained during my studies and broadening it into many areas of financial and banking law. The LLM in EU and International Law at Radboud University proved to be a real springboard for my career.”
Elise Malara, legal counsel for DLL
"I am currently working as an Immigration Consultant at KPMG Meijburg & Co in Amstelveen, where I have been part of the immigration team since October 2023. In my role, I coordinate a high volume of immigration casework, often managing around 100 cases per month during peak periods. I also advise clients and work closely with external counsel to ensure compliance, streamline processes, and support faster employee arrivals. I truly enjoy my work because of the constant dynamic, the frequent changes in the immigration field, and the opportunity to help foreigners come to the Netherlands and settle here successfully."
Anastasiia Ekisheva, Immigration Consultant at KPMG Meijburg & Co
"I am a Manager in the Global Mobility Services team at Grant Thornton Netherlands, where I advise multinational companies on Dutch immigration processes, compliance, and mobility strategy. Before joining Grant Thornton, I worked at Deloitte, focusing on immigration compliance and global mobility programs. I enjoy the challenge of navigating complex regulations and ensuring companies stay compliant in their international operations."
Elif Kamaci, Manager in the Global Mobility Services team at Grant Thornton Netherlands
