Shape the Future of Intelligent Automation as a Technical Lead

Are you ready to technically lead a team with experts in the world of automation and material handling solutions? Do you love combining tackling complex automation challenges for our customers and managing the operations? Then this is your opportunity!

Become our Technical Lead and shape the future of intelligent automation by solving complex challenges that matter while taking care of the operations of a high performing, innovative, multidisciplinary team. Your expertise will drive innovation, support high-end solutions, and elevate customer satisfaction in dynamic, high-tech environments.

Your role

As Technical Lead, you play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operation for our customers by providing guidance, support, and coordination to the team for our in-house developed controls software based on QNX or Linux and C++, used across all areas of Vanderlande: Airports, Warehousing, and Distribution.

You and the team are the last level of support within the Service Desk organization and are therefore dealing with the more complex incidents to restore service, then identify the root-cause. Preventing is much better than reacting and that is why you take decisions on developing solid, permanent solutions and take care of smooth implementation; delivering reliable support that meets service agreements. In most cases, you will provide this support remotely via a VPN-connection. That said, on a regular basis you will visit the customer to perform upgrades and other changes as we continue to implement ways to improve our systems on site. This senior role obviously comes with more challenging tasks. Let’s talk about how you can make a real impact in this role.

Your responsibilities:

  • Actively contributes to day-to-day operations by providing practical leadership and sound decision-making.
  • Coordinates availability of resources for problem analysis and onsite changes.
  • Managing the most complex, often multidisciplinary, incidents, problems and changes.
  • Leads initiatives to continuously improve our processes, services and products.
  • Contributing to a qualitative knowledge management and training environment.
  • Work closely with team, internal stakeholders and customers to continuously improve our service, and you look for solutions rather than problems.
  • Advises on personal (technical) development of engineers, promotes training and capability building and encouraging accountability and ownership.

Who are you?

You are a go-getter and do not give up until you find a solution. You grow with us and dare to take your questions to your colleagues, and you enjoy learning from them. You also enjoy sharing your knowledge with them. Working in a team energizes you and you are always ready to help your colleagues. We are excited to hear from you if you are willing to take on more responsibility and bring most of the following:

  • Have a technical oriented education.
  • Have knowledge of PROFINET, ASi and networks, Siemens PLC/TIA Portal. This is an advantage!
  • Have a flexible and proactive mindset with a passion for learning and growth.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, who sets the right priorities for the team and deal with the consequences.
  • Participate in our stand-by rotation every 5/6 weeks (includes additional compensation).
  • You are fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is an advantage.
