As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. As a Planning & Control Employee you are responsible for creating, monitoring and optimizing the operational planning within both our automated and conventional warehouse environments. You ensure efficient deployment of personnel and resources aligned with the workload. Using forecast data, historical trends and real-time information you make informed decisions. You continuously coordinate with internal departments such as operations, customer service and transport to ensure smooth processes.

How you create impact

• Create daily and weekly schedules for order picking and staffing in both automated and conventional environments
• Coordinate and execute pallet dispatches in the automated warehouse taking into account operational workload and booked time slots
• Analyze bottlenecks in planning and operational processes and propose improvements
• Optimize planning processes through automation and digital tools in collaboration with IT and operations
• Support the development and implementation of dashboards and reports for capacity planning and performance monitoring
• Act as the point of contact for planning-related questions and guide colleagues in using planning systems

What we would like you to bring

• Minimum HBO-level education preferably in logistics, supply chain or business administration
• Experience with operational planning in both automated and conventional warehouse settings
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
• Excellent planning, organizational and accuracy skills
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
• Proactive, pragmatic and able to gain support from various stakeholders
• Available for 40 hours per week, possibly in a three-shift system
