The Vacancy: Supplier Quality Manager

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Manager to lead the multicultural and motivated supplier quality team of Fokker Landing Gear manufacturing operations based in Papendrecht. This is a key role that combines leadership, quality oversight, and continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards of GKN Aerospace are met. As a Supplier Quality Manager you will be functionally responsible for all Supplier quality activities within the Procurement organization of Fokker Landing Gear.

Fokker Landing Gear

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Aerospace in Papendrecht, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gear systems, as well as the repair and reassembly (MRO) of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

What You'll Do

  • Be accountable for all Quality Assurance activities within the Procurement Business,
  • Ensure that the Quality system is adequate and is being applied and adhered to within the business, through the provision of independently gathered evidence by the business,
  • Ensure that the certification processes within the business is adequately defined, accurate, credible, robust and consistently applied,
  • Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Plans within the Function to achieve Global Procurement and department targets (i.e. escapes reduction plans and concession (tags) reduction plans),
  • Be the contact point for partners / internal customer representatives, facilitating / managing customer inspection,
  • Ensure that competent Manufacturing Engineers accurately convert the customer requirements in to clear supplier instructions,
  • Drive the accuracy of the Quality dataset,
  • Act as a focal point for Quality issues relating to the supply of product,
  • Drive supplier process improvements,
  • Develop and deploy performance and process metrics that are consistent across the Global Procurement organisation,
  • Ensure the Health and Safety policies and procedure are adhered to by the Procurement Quality team,
  • Hold accountability for the management of the people within the Procurement Quality team ensuring that PDP, development plans and succession planning is completed,
  • Ensure that the people within the Procurement Quality team have the adequate skills to carry out their roles, where skill gaps are identified, putting training and development plans in place to address them,
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, legal, and quality requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and supplier quality within an aerospace or comparable industry,
  • BSc or higher in Engineering,
  • Proven track record in supplier quality management,
  • Experience in problem solving tool sets (eg. G8Ds, Ishikawa diagrams etc),
  • Understanding of the Aerospace industry and associated technological and commercial trends,
  • Experience in New product Introduction and interaction between Purachsing and Engineering in Product Development,
  • Working experience of AS13XXX, AS9100 -standards and PPAP/APQA Understanding of the Aerospace industry and associated regulatory requirements and standards,
  • Core competences: Analytical ability, Coaching, Communicating, Decisiveness, Integrity, Consciousness of the environment, Planning and Organization, Professional content, result oriented,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Residence in the vicinity of Papendrecht, the Netherlands.
