At a Glance

The Findings Management & Advisory team within the Credit Transformation Office (CTO) is looking for a Regulatory Advisory Expert. This team aims to understand the root cause and specific regulatory intention behind the regulatory and group audit findings, develop appropriate solutions and steer the closure of regulatory and audit findings in a timely and effective manner. If you enjoy contributing to changes in the credit domain, this role is perfect for you. As Regulatory Advisory Expert you have a clear vision on what target regulatory compliant and efficient credit lifecycle processes (in scope of Financing Solutions) looks like based on client needs, regulatory requirements and related findings.

Your work

As a Regulatory Advisory Expert, you'll help drive change in the credit area. If you're good at spotting gaps and using your regulatory knowledge to suggest the best solutions—whether quick fixes or long-term structural strategies—this role is for you.

Your tasks include:

  • Understanding the European Central Bank's (ECB) observations and findings and making sure ABN AMRO understands them too.
  • Looking at solution options based on expert advice and defining a plan to address the observations, considering what's achievable, timelines, and possible trade-offs, all leading up to the final action plan.
  • Identifying the right person to take action on the chosen solution, in coordination with the responsible parties.
  • Addressing gaps by ensuring that the necessary mitigants or risk acceptances are in place.
  • Finding the root causes of issues in credit risk processes, identifying connections across findings and new regulations, and suggesting a sequence of solutions to actively fix them.
  • Making sure external deadlines are achieved based on insights into how solutions will be implemented.
  • Contribute on internal and external reporting of the progress to address regulatory and group audit findings
  • Scope includes: Financing Solutions and Main bank non-retail/SME (PL SME).

About Credit Transformation Office

The Credit Transformation Office (CTO) is responsible for improving and managing all changes within the bank's credit domain, such as Definition of Default, Future Credit Domain initiatives, and NextGen Lending. We are a diverse team of approximately 30 colleagues, always willing to help each other. CTO collaborates with various teams to ensure all changes are well integrated and that no conflicts arise in priorities or capacity. The team assists in problem-solving, provides advice, and supports management in decision-making. Through this approach, CTO ensures that the bank can better respond to market changes, save costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Your Profile

You are interested in lending, regulations, change, and credit risk. You understand business and financial risk and have a good knowledge of banking lending. You thrive in a high-performance environment and work well in a team.

Additionally:

  • You have at least 5-7 years of experience in banking, financial services, or regulatory bodies.
  • You know bank policies and regulations in credit risk and can turn these into requirements.
  • You have solid skills in project management, stakeholder management, and communication (written and oral).
  • You have a strong risk ownership mindset, following the first line of defence principles.
  • You are proactive, entrepreneurial, and motivated by change.
  • You have strong regulatory knowledge.
