Be the calm in the start by building a future-proof business operation and taking ownership. As a BCM Coordinator at Non-Life Schade Intermediair (SI), the non-life insurance branch of NN Group in The Hague, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization is prepared for the unexpected and are the driving force behind the professionalization of our business continuity management (BCM). From crisis response to continuity planning, your work will help safeguard our operations and support our commitment to resilience and compliance. The time is now, as BCM currently has the full attention of the board and there is a budget available. What does this mean for you? A great playing field to truly make a difference within a large, dynamic organization.

What you are going to do

You ensure that thousands of colleagues and millions of customers can continue to rely on our services—even when a crisis occurs. The responsibility for drafting and testing continuity and crisis plans lies with you, as does training colleagues who work with these plans. For this, you interact daily with management and colleagues from Schade Intermediair. You offer sharp advice and have the ability to translate complex requirements into clear frameworks and practical guidelines. Your role is currently a top priority, which means you have plenty of space to innovate and implement structural improvements.

As a BCM Coordinator, you will:

  • Provide direction to the BCM and crisis organization of Schade Intermediair
  • Serve as the point of contact for the board and management, advising on continuity, crisis management, and IT disaster recovery
  • Organize crisis management trainings and exercises and maintain the crisis management plan
  • Guide management and teams to safeguard core processes and ensure compliance
  • Actively share your knowledge within the growing NN Global BCM Community and develop your own expertise
  • Work together with internal stakeholders to draw up annual plans, improvement proposals, and reports regarding BCM and IT General Controls (ITGC)
  • Monitor and coordinate the execution of ITGC, and liaise with auditors

What we offer you

NN invests in an inclusive, inspiring work environment and in skills and competences for the future. We match this with employee benefits that are in line with what is needed today and in the future. This way, we offer our employees the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. We offer you:

  • Salary between €4,827 and €6,895 depending on your knowledge and experience (based on 36 hours)
  • 13th month and holiday allowance are paid with your monthly salary
  • 27 vacation days for a 5-day working week and one Diversity Day
  • A modern pension administered by BeFrank
  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities
  • NS Business Card 2nd class, which gives you unlimited travel, also privately. Do you prefer to travel with your own transport? Then you can declare the kilometers travelled
  • Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use

Who you are

You understand how critical data security is and how important your role is for an organization’s resilience. With your interpersonal skills and enthusiasm, you are able to convince others of this—whether they are IT colleagues or executive board members—even if you do not have formal authority. You take ownership and think ahead. You stand your ground, feel at home in a complex environment, and draw energy from encouraging others to take action.

You bring:

  • Sufficient demonstrable experience as an expert in business continuity management—and preferably also in crisis management and IT security—to independently take on this role. You understand the connections between these domains and know what is needed to organize them effectively
  • Certification from a BCM training program such as CBCI or CBCM is a significant plus
  • Experience with stakeholder management at various levels
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate policies into practical frameworks and working methods
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and a passion for helping others improve resilience

Who you will work with

You’ll join a warm and close-knit security team based in The Hague. Due to one of our colleagues working abroad, as a team we mainly work online but for your stakeholder management you might find it easier to connect when joining some physical meetings in our office in The Hague. And of course, for social bonding, we also meetup in person. We work closely with colleagues across Non-Life, Schade Intermediair, IT, and Business. Our culture is supportive, professional, and focused on continuous learning. We believe in sharing knowledge, celebrating wins, and staying ready—together.
