Embedded systems internship: light simulator for i-line machines

Introduction

The Embedded SW Common and DUV department is responsible for the software of multiple machine types, on multiple levels. In this department, the Optical Column group creates, maintains and supports software for multiple elements. We provide both drivers and middle level applications that enable other departments to actuate the machine and achieve production with high performance.

Your assignment

ASML i-line machines use a mercury vapor lamp as the light source for imaging. Various devices are employed to adjust or control the lamp power.

This assignment aims to develop a simulation solution (Light Simulator) that replicates the behavior of the lamp. The assignment will involve the investigation, design, implementation, and testing of the Light Simulator.

Goal: The Light Simulator will operate within a simulated testing environment and be compatible with Linux. Additionally, the solution is designed to be extendable, allowing for the easy addition of more functionality in the future.
