Join us as a Global Sustainability Intern at our International Headquarters in Amsterdam, starting September 2025.
In this internship, you will support our work championing Regenerative Agriculture and Nature 🌿, as well as further refine our Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence processes. All of this will be done through hands-on support and by contributing to our sustainability information & knowledge management system.

Your key activities will be:

  • Conducting research and analysis to evaluate potential environmental and social risks and impacts associated with our company’s activities, products, and suppliers.
  • Supporting the rollout of our Monitoring & Evaluation processes to collect and report on key performance indicators related to our nature and people goals.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to obtain insights on human rights and sustainability performance throughout the supply chain, and effectively communicating your findings.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees, suppliers, and partners about sustainability topics.
  • Supporting the preparation of sustainability reports, disclosures, and submissions for both internal and external audiences.
  • Assisting with the rollout of our Human Rights & Environmental Due Diligence Programme.
  • Collaborating on the creation of an information and knowledge management system to support our sustainability initiatives.

What’s in it for you?

  • A monthly internship allowance of €525 (full-time)
  • Travel compensation if you don’t have a free public transport card 🚆
  • Paid holidays for each internship term
  • The chance to learn from some of the best sustainability professionals in the field
  • Backed by a strong 4.5 Glassdoor rating and a 94% intern recommendation score 🌟, we’re committed to offering you a unique learning journey. As part of our Global Sustainability team, you’ll gain valuable insights into corporate sustainability processes in a global context, and develop a deeper understanding of social and environmental due diligence in a publicly listed organization.

Are you bursting with fresh ideas and a hunger for learning? We want you! 💡

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Academic Program: You are enrolled in a BSc or MSc program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in the fields of sustainability, environmental studies, human rights, or international relations.
  • Skillset: You have strong MS Office skills and are fluent in both spoken and written English. Familiarity with topics like the UN Guiding Principles, ILO Conventions, and Human Rights standards is a plus.
  • Personal Traits: You’re passionate about sustainability and human rights 🌍, and bring strong research, analytical, and communication skills aimed at driving positive impact.
  • Commitment: You’re available for at least 6 months, ideally from September to February.
  • Availability: You can commit to the internship full-time, 5 days a week.

As we hope to have sparked your interest ✨, please ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Your internship must be part of your academic curriculum and contribute directly to your study results.
  • Your educational institution must be willing to sign a collaboration agreement with JDE Peet’s — and, if joining one of our Research departments, also sign an NDA for the internship.
  • You must either be an EU/EEA student residing in the Netherlands during the internship, or a non-EU/EEA student enrolled at and living in the Netherlands during the internship period.
