We’re growing fast, and we need someone who’s excited to shape the future of HR in a scaling startup. As our People & Culture Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our team, making sure everything runs smoothly—from hiring talented people to keeping our culture strong.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape and evolve our impact strategy and reporting structure, all focused on driving sustainable impact. You’ll work closely with our Management Team, collaborating across departments to make a real difference. You’ll gain hands-on experience in recruitment, HR operations, and administration, while being mentored by a senior professional. There’s lots of room for creativity—we want fresh ideas, smarter processes, and someone who’s not afraid to challenge the status quo. If you love getting things done, working with tech and data, and making people operations simple, human, and effective, this role is for you.

Your role includes

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition – Finding and hiring the right people, understanding salary benchmarks, and building a great candidate experience.
  • HR Operations & Administration – Managing contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Culture & Employee Happiness – Monitoring team well-being, running pulse surveys, and identifying potential issues early.
  • Smart HR Processes – Designing or updating simple, scalable, and efficient processes.
  • HR Tech & Data – Leveraging tools to streamline HR, tracking key metrics, and enabling data-driven decisions.
  • Problem-Solving & Growth – Continuously rethinking and improving ways of working, learning along the way, and driving impact.
  • Impact Strategy & Reporting – Developing an impact strategy and building a clear reporting structure.

GBM Works’ Story:

While working as an intern for an offshore contractor that builds offshore wind farms, a young engineer discovered that their ships and installation methods were far from sustainable. Marine life suffers from humanity’s efforts to replace fossil fuels with renewable sources, yet the infrastructure and techniques used for installation are still light years behind. Determined to change this, he set out to design his own solution.

That’s how, five years ago, Ben Arntz founded GBM Works and developed a disruptive and innovative method to silently install offshore foundations. Today, we are advancing our Vibrojet® tool for the next generation of XXL monopiles used in offshore wind energy. Our patented method addresses major challenges in the offshore wind industry, including harmful noise to marine life, potential delays, fatigue damage to piles, and scaling issues associated with current 'piling' methods.

Workplace

Our flexible office is situated in Amsterdam Noord in the Energy Transition Campus (ETCA). The ETCA offers a lot of facilities such as a sport accommodation, a restaurant and an excellent coffee bar.

Job requirements

About You

  • Analytical thinking – you use data and insights to make smart HR decisions

  • A self-starter with the mindset to independently explore new areas of expertise
  • A sharp eye for people and culture – you sense when something feels “off” and act before small issues become big ones
  • You have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO level) and have at least three years of experience in a relevant role
