Are you passionate about understanding customer behavior and interested in the commercial aspects of retail? Join IKEA as an Intern in Customer Behaviour and help us gain insights into the buying process of sofas. This is your chance to work in a dynamic environment where your ideas can shape the future of our products and services.

A day in your life with us

As an Intern in Customer Behaviour, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to understand the customer journey for IKEA’s sofas. You will analyze the buying process from orientation to after the purchase, identifying key drivers and barriers for IKEA and its competitors. You will learn:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer journey for IKEA’s sofas.
  • Identify criteria that consumers find most important when purchasing sofas.
  • Analyze drivers and barriers for IKEA and its key competitors.
  • Understand the specific journeys for different income groups and lifestyle segments.
  • Learn about willingness to pay at IKEA versus willingness to pay at competitors.

At IKEA, we value individuality and creativity. We are looking for someone who is:

  • Doing this internship as part of your school's degree. You're following an education at a Dutch school.
  • Passionate about consumer behavior and commercial analysis.
  • Skilled in data analysis with an HBO education level.
  • Proficient in English
  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to work from the office in Haarlem at least 50% of your time, which is a dynamic and collaborative environment.

What else you need or want to learn:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with data.
  • Experience in understanding customer journeys and consumer behavior.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

  • An internship allowance of €340 gross per month (based on 38 hours).
  • This internship is for 32 hours per week and starts from early September for 3-4 months.
