You and your job
As an Associate Director in the Relationship & Portfolio Management team of Project Finance at Rabobank, you will manage a portfolio of European clients in renewable energy and infrastructure. You will assess sector and client developments, represent Project Finance inside and outside the bank, and foster cooperation with other departments to provide the best service to clients. The way in which we produce and consume energy needs to change and reaching global climate goals is more important than ever. • Managing your own portfolio of European clients active in renewable energy and related technologies, such as: offshore wind, onshore wind, solar and battery storage.
• Staying on top of sector and client developments and assessing their impact on your clients and the wider portfolio.
• Representing Project Finance inside and outside the bank and encouraging co-operation with other departments in order to achieve the best service for our clients.

• A team of around 70 people and part of the Global Project Finance team, consisting of approx. 110 people.

Top 3 responsibilities

• Taking ownership of and managing your client portfolio, developing and maintaining strong relationships through regular client contact.
• Managing the credit review process by delivering high-quality credit applications, including analysis of financial performance, structure risks, ESG risks, and credit risk parameters.
• Performing market-driven risk assessments using financial models, price curves and production forecasts.

The 70 people in Project Finance Europe are based in Utrecht. Project Finance Europe is part of the regional Wholesale Lending department. Within Project Finance, the Relationship & Portfolio Management (RPM) team consists of 24 colleagues. RPM takes over the client responsibility after financial close, and manages the relationship from that point in time until the last repayment. RPM works closely together with the Origination, Structuring and Execution team, which is responsible for bringing new transactions to financial close. You and your talent

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or Business Administration.
• At least 6 years of work experience in finance, economics, energy, or engineering.
• Project Finance experience is strongly preferred and will be a factor in candidate selection.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English are essential, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow projections, financial models, and legal documentation.
• Commercially skilled with prior experience in credit and/or wholesale lending practices and/or the energy sector.
• Assertive and independently entrepreneurial.
• Affinity with renewable energy technologies and market developments.
• Team player with a customer focus, effective across disciplines and departments.
• Storytelling ability to effectively communicate complex information, enhancing decision making.
