Senior Global Portfolio and Workplace Manager

About the role:

You have the opportunity to shape and lead the Global Real Estate Portfolio for a world-leading domestic appliances company. You will directly oversee 2 people and an additional 6 dotted, ensuring the delivery of an attractive, inspiring, and efficient workplace environment for over 7000 colleagues across 80+ locations, encompassing more than 200,000 sqm of office spaces, production and assembly sites, and Innovation & Design facilities.

The impact you’ll make:

1. Global Strategy Development:

• Develop, evaluate, and drive the global, board-approved real estate strategy.
• Establish the company culture through real estate, creating an outstanding company identity.
• Transform legacy real estate into a standalone company.

2. Workplace Concept Development:

• Develop and implement a workplace concept that inspires our colleagues and creates a Great Place to Work.
• Ensure integration and alignment with functions such as security, digital, and facility management.

3. Real Estate & Facility management Team

• Manage your team to deliver the Real Estate strategy
• Your team consists of 2 direct reports focusing on Real Estate transaction and project management as well as local NL based facility management.
• You also oversee 6 additional team members located across the globe in charge of local Real Estate and facility management.

4. Location Strategy:

• Develop and evaluate location strategies to ensure optimal locations regarding talent, supply chain, financial, and economic benefits.

5. Sustainability Strategy:

• Translate the company’s sustainability goals (Net Zero by 2040) into a real estate portfolio plan, including implementation and reporting.
• Support the sustainability roadmap for manufacturing sites.

6. Governance:

• Set up and fine-tune governance for the real estate function.
• Initiate and oversee decision-making, budgeting, and financial controlling (Budget of 27 MEUR/Year).
• Manage invoice and PO processes, and procurement.

7. Transaction Management:

• Manage and align the global real estate transaction and project management function.

8. Monitoring & Control:

• Set budgets and track actual spending.
• Drive cost savings and efficiency improvements.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

• At least 10 years of experience in real estate strategy development and execution.

• Ability to influence business decisions through fact-based storytelling.

• Strong financial controlling and budgeting acumen.

• Experience in workplace development, implementation, and facility management.

• Expertise in sustainability strategy and execution.

• Excellent leadership and project management skills.

• Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment.
