Do you want to exceed customer expectations and achieve the highest customer satisfaction? Are you driven, enthusiastic, and does your heart beat faster for high-tech product development? Then start as an Operations Manager D&E at NTS Eindhoven and let’s make it possible together.

Job Description

The Operations Manager will report to the MD – D&E and manage a team of Cross-functional Project Managers (CPMs). He will be responsible for ensuring effective project execution and driving the development of project management competencies within the team.

As Operations Manager D&E at NTS Eindhoven, your main role is to set up and control the operational base line of the NTS D&E organization. The ultimate goal is to achieve project excellence for all the projects running under your responsibility. The way to achieve this is to connect the goals of the running projects with the existing supporting processes.

  • You maintain a clear overview of all D&E projects running under your responsibility, including KPI’s that illustrate the individual project status and outlook on quality and time. This project portfolio represents the actual maturity level of where you are on the journey towards project excellence. The Project Management Office is a supporting team that will assist you in maintaining these overviews. As their line manager you will define their operational tasks and set yearly goals.
  • To grow the maturity of the D&E organization you are also responsible for the D&E process description and adherence: these are the supporting D&E processes that contribute to the quality of project execution. It is your responsibility to maintain a clear and common way of working for all D&E projects as reference for continuous improvement. To support this process (and adherence), the QMS officer will report to you directly and you are responsible to perform internal and external ISO audits on these processes.
  • You play a crucial role in the D&E management team where your main tasks are: translating the strategical and commercial goals of the Managing- and sales-director into yearly operational targets.
  • Align with Competence Managers how to support the D&E employees towards project excellence, e.g. by participating in project- and milestone reviews.
  • You are also accountable for the resource allocation- and escalation process. Competence Managers are responsible to assign the right people to the projects as requested by the project managers, but in case of conflicts within your project portfolio you will manage these escalations. Thus, you are at the “crossroad” of the matrix organization, balancing the “needs” of the Project Managers with the “means” of the Competence Managers.
  • To further facilitate this balancing of the daily operation AND growth towards project excellence, you are also playing the role of Competence Manager Project Management who is direct supervisor of the Project Managers for D&E. Project Managers are at the daily operational crossroad of our matrix organization and will enable you to guide them in maintaining the best possible project baseline and in parallel grow and learn on the job towards project excellence.
  • The Operations Manager must have a strong personality that can combine the logic of how and why we need to adhere to processes and at the time can be decisive in the daily operation. We expect that you have at least 10 years of experience in similar roles with a proven track record on the required soft skills.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Organization Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of operations, program, product or project management experience, preferably with OEMs in hi-tech industry.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication, change management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management and agile tools.

Our Offer:

At NTS, we combine our passion for technology with innovative solutions for complex challenges. You will have the freedom and trust to fully utilize and develop your talents in a dynamic and energetic environment. We invest in both technology and in you as a future colleague!

In this challenge, we offer the following benefits:

  • Competitive Compensation package;
  • Personal growth and development opportunities;
  • 27 vacation days and an additional 13 ADV days;
  • Excellent pension scheme at PME;
  • Travel allowance
