Demand Planner
Based in our Amsterdam office, we are seeking a skilled and dynamic Demand Planner to develop and maintain high-quality consensus demand plans for our organization in Trauma & Extremities. This position will leverage statistical analysis, cross-functional inputs, and sound judgment to optimize our demand forecasting processes and support our strategic business objectives.
What you will do:
- Demand Forecasting: Create and maintain high-quality demand forecasts and analytics by analyzing historical order bookings/shipments, item master data, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and product life-cycle management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary demand planning contact for Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Global Operations teams. Collaborate with these partners to align business objectives with demand plans.
- Facilitation of Demand Planning Process: Lead and coordinate the demand planning process among other Demand Planners to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in delivering high-quality forecasts.
- Senior Management Liaison: Act as a liaison to cross-functional senior management, providing education on the demand plan's implications and risks, while documenting key assumptions for monthly review cycles.
- Integrated Business Planning: Represent the demand planning process within Stryker’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework and partner with the global IBP team to ensure clear communication across supply functions.
- Product Life-Cycle Management: Support the execution of product life-cycle management processes, monitor SKU levels, and recommend rationalization initiatives based on demand trends.
- Performance Analytics: Collaborate with planning analysts and forecast modelers to develop reporting analytics that inform strategic decision-making for the business.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in demand planning procedures, policies, and technologies. Advocate for industry best practices within the organization.
- Training and Development: Conduct training sessions as needed within the demand planning team and across the organization to enhance skills and knowledge.
What you need:
Required:
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in Supply Chain Planning, Demand Management/Forecasting, Sales Operations/Planning, Finance/Accounting, or Marketing. Entry-level graduates may be considered.
- Familiarity with sales analytics, new product introductions, and supply chain metrics.
- Proficiency in statistical software and extensive spreadsheet analysis.
Preferred:
- Certifications: APICS/IBF or similar professional certification in Supply Chain concepts is preferred.
- Experience in the medical device or related industry.
- Cross-functional experience in related fields is a plus.
- Experience with demand planning tools (e.g., Oracle Demantra, Demand Solutions, SteelWedge).
