About the role

You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of Essential Home’s Speak Up programme and for conducting and supporting various internal compliance investigations. You will lead and support the implementation and improvement of training, tools and templates for use in internal investigations conducted by others in the Legal & Compliance function. In addition, you will lead and support various legal and compliance risk mapping processes and the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of risk assessment tools, templates and processes at enterprise, regional and market levels. From time to time, you may be asked to support other members of the Legal & Compliance function in activities related to risk monitoring and global policy revision and implementation.

The role will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Corporate and Compliance, Essential Home.

Your responsibilities

• Maintain and develop Essential Home’s Speak Up programme.
• Conduct internal compliance investigations and support the investigations conducted by other members of the Legal & Compliance function.
• Implement and improve training, tools and templates for use in internal investigations.
• Develop, implement and improve risk assessment tools, templates and processes to be employed at enterprise, regional and market levels.
• Consult and coordinate with other members of the Legal & Compliance function to improve tools, templates and processes relevant to risk mapping, risk assessment and internal investigations.
• As may be necessary from time to time, support other activities of the Legal & Compliance function, particularly risk monitoring activities and the revision and implementation of global policies.

The experience we're looking for

• Qualification to practice law.
• 3-5 years of experience in the practice or application of law and compliance, with substantial experience and demonstrated aptitude in the following areas:
  • internal investigations, including the implementation of tools, templates and processes used in internal investigations; and
  • risk assessments, including the development of tools, templates and processes used in the assessment of legal and compliance risk at global, regional and market levels.
• Native-level spoken and written English.
• Work experience in a multi-national environment, with experience in the UK/Europe/North America preferred.
• Experience with the development and implementation of corporate policies preferred.
• Experience with risk monitoring processes preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Strong legal and commercial acumen.
