Portfolio Management Retail is part of NIBC Retail Banking, which excels in mortgage lending and savings products across The Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Our Portfolio Management team plays a crucial role in managing both the mortgage and savings portfolios, including activities like interest rate risk hedging, credit risk assessments, Retail Banking funding, and pricing determination for NIBC mortgages.

What you'll do:

Depending on your experience, you’ll either assist or take the lead role in providing key insights into the risks and dynamics within our mortgage balance sheet. As a junior / trainee, you'll start with supportive activities, but you'll soon receive more responsibilities. Moreover, your teammates will include you in everything they do, which means you'll get a good idea of the job very quickly.  

Initial Activities:

  • Interact with a wide range of experts closely involved in day-to-day business dynamics.
  • Utilize your analytical skills in data requests and modelling, such as forecasting, explanatory analysis, and quantitative support for new business cases.
  • Provide essential information on the risk profile of our mortgage balance, market valuation of our mortgage loans, and spread/margins development.
  • Support Retail Banking’s Management Team and our Executive Board Members in making strategic decisions.
  • Improve models both in implementation and methodology, working with SQL, Python, PowerBI, DataBricks, Azure Devops, and Excel.
  • Focus on automation and improved presentation of figures with the introduction of a Cloud Data Platform.

Your team:

You’ll join the Portfolio Management Retail team, consisting of 7 colleagues who work closely together, share laughs, and regularly engage in social activities like drinks/dinners. Our team is ambitious, continuously seeking to improve our work and methodologies. Many of us have technical backgrounds in Mathematics and Econometrics, and we are searching for a person who fits well within our team dynamic.

As a subteam of a larger team, you will have additional learning opportunities in data science and structured finance, gaining exposure to a wide range of competencies.

  • Preferably have relevant work experience in fields such as the Basel Framework, hedging, pricing, liquidity risk, behavioral modeling, prepayment risk, mortgage loan valuation, structuring, and reporting.
