Functional Application Manager

Summary:

Join our IT Finance & Risk team and be the driving force behind our application management!

What will you do?

As our Functional Application Manager within the IT Risk, Legal and Compliance team, you have a shared responsibility for a good performing, functional and stable application landscape of this stretched business domain. You will be responsible for the development, life cycle management and support of the central Sanction Screening and Regulatory Scanning application used within the Compliancy & Regulatory Affairs department. You do this from a complete end-to-end perspective with all relevant stakeholders in the value chain. This requires close cooperation with the Compliancy department and with other IT teams, like: IT Corporate Banking, IT Retail, IT Architecture, Integrations and Business Intelligence.

As Functional Application Manager - Finance & Risk IT:

  • You enable the quality and continuity of your own IT business services by primarily preventing incidents, and secondarily resolving the incidents as quickly and effectively as possible;
  • You are (partially) responsible for -or participate in- the relevant IT changes/projects as well as for the final acceptance of these changes/projects on your applications;
  • You communicate with users about content or incidents, about problems and changes;
  • You make IT transparent for your business colleagues;
  • Lead operational projects for the life cycle management and development of your applications.

Your Applications

You will be the primary Functional Application Manager for both our Sanction Screening application, Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS), and the Regulatory Scanning & Workflow application, IBM Open Pages. OWS is used for the daily automated Sanction Screening of all NIBC customers which is an important process within the bank. You will be monitoring and managing the application and, together with external experts, further improving the application.

IBM Open Pages is a newly used SaaS solution within the bank to scan the web for new regulations relevant for NIBC and assign them via a workflow module to the relevant stakeholders. You will be the key person to maintain and improve the application, steer the software vendor in the execution of bigger changes and life cycle management. Stakeholder management in this job is therefore a pivot element.

Your team

As our Functional Application Manager, you are part of the sub-team IT Risk, Legal and Compliance which is part of the team IT Finance and Risk. A multidisciplinary team in which several competences are present, like DevOps Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Service Managers etc. The team consists of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. What do you bring?
You are the linking pin between Business and IT. You have a T-shaped profile and add value with your enthusiasm, knowledge and skills with respect to our area. You are not afraid to ask questions and you understand the technology you have to work with. In our area we work a lot with external vendors and external employees, it is important you know how to collect and secure knowledge about the solutions which are built and have to be supported.

Competences and education:

  • You operate on an WO or HBO level – with focus on IT;
  • You have affinity with the Governance, Risk & Compliance domain;
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and provide user support;
  • Proactive and self organizing;
  • Always striving for ways to improve the processes;
  • You have work experience on managing both SaaS and on premise applications, including responsibility for LifeCycle Management;
  • You understand the approach to solve incidents and try to prevent them from happening again;
  • Fluent in English, Dutch highly preferred;
  • A nice and fun colleague!

Knowledge and skills:

  • Basic knowledge about and/or affinity with Compliancy processes within a bank;
  • MS SQL skills;

Preferably:

  • Oversee the integration of Risk, Legal & Compliance applications with other business systems to ensure seamless data flow and accuracy;
  • Worked with JIRA in a SCRUM or Kanban environment;
  • Experience with Azure AD and Single Sign On.
