In this role you will be contributing to the build out of investment capabilities by structuring and executing mid-market private debt transactions in the Benelux. The role is located in Rotterdam.

Based in Zurich, Paris, London, Munich, Rotterdam and Singapore, the Direct Lending platform is composed of 28 investment professionals, including 1 senior investment professional in Rotterdam covering the Benelux. With c. €10bn AUM, we invest in European mid-cap direct lending transactions, in Emerging Markets and in Asia.

In addition to contributing to the structuring, credit analysis, terms and conditions negotiation, execution, and asset monitoring of direct lending transactions in European markets, the position will include various related tasks linked to the growth of the business.

What you will do

• Conduct in-depth due diligence on individual companies to provide adequate risk analysis of investments
• Conduct market/industry research, compiling comparable transactions and precedent financings
• Run the financial modelling with the ability to project different scenario by challenging key assumptions
• Prepare investment memorandum writing and presentation to the committee
• Participate in internal processes regarding execution of investments
• Monitor, manage and report existing investments in the portfolio.
• Support the preparation of materials for investor communication whether in the context of reporting or fundraising
• Support senior investment professional in origination of potential transactions and maintain relationships with private equity businesses and advisors
• Facilitate relationships with other teams: Investment committee members, product specialists, Impact Strategy team, and support functions (risk management, legal, operations, compliance, products, etc.).

What you bring

• 4 to 7 years of experience in Transaction Services/Leveraged Finance/Private Debt
• Prior experience in financial modelling, financial and/or credit risk analysis and drafting
• Solid academic track record
• Fluency in English and Dutch. Fluency in a third European Language is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Eagerness to join a growing platform with an investing passion and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Attention to detail and ability to challenge e.g. views, statements, processes etc.
• Ability to work for different type of direct lending transactions (senior, unitranche) across various strategies we offer including but not limited to an interest in a sustainability and impact strategy
• Work well within a diverse and international team
• Proactivity in a team where each member will need to assume tasks outside of the typical day-to-day tasks to grow the platform.
