Director Group Treasury & Risk Management

What will you do?

As Director of Group Treasury & Risk Management you’ll be responsible for managing financial risks and developing KLM’s strategic financial policy. You’ll work closely with both internal and external partners to manage financial risks and support the organisation in making informed decisions.

• You will lead the central finance department responsible for cash management, foreign exchange, and interest rate risks;
• You will perform risk analyses and advise on hedging financial risks, including in lease contracts and large procurement deals;
• You will maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions, ensuring efficient financing processes;
• You will coordinate and advise on financial risks within the network, including within the IATA treasury working group;
• You will play an active role in periodic meetings with management and the CFO regarding financial policy and risk management.

Where do you land?

You will join the Treasury & Risk Management team within KLM Finance. You will work closely with two finance managers and be part of the Finance management team. You will have direct contact with various departments within KLM, subsidiaries, and external partners, and you will report to the VP of Corporate Finance & Treasury.

Your profile

As Director of Group Treasury & Risk Management, you are capable of inspiring and coaching a team, while simultaneously determining the strategic and tactical course of treasury policy. You are strong in communication, persuasive and you are a dealmaker who gives everything to achieve results. You have experience presenting complex financial information at the boardroom level.

Additionally, you have:

• A completed academic education in a financial field and at least 10 years of experience in financial risk management and corporate finance;
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and risks;
• Experience in motivating and developing a team;
• A proven track record in advising management on strategic financial decisions;
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
