Job Description

This role consists of managing a number of our Indirect Procurement categories linked to spend in Professional Services across multiple functions and activities like Marketing, HR, Finance and Travel. As an Indirect Procurement category manager you will enhance total value creation from our vendors both regional and global by leading innovation and optimization initiatives; while managing the strategic direction of these critical spend categories. You will work closely with both business stakeholders as well as the extended Procurement community to build and execute multi-year roadmaps to help transform our Indirect Procurement team into a value creation engine.

The position will be located in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands, reporting to the Indirect Procurement Lead in EMENA.

The Indirect Procurement Category Manager EMENA will play a pivotal role in developing and executing procurement strategies to leverage spend, optimize costs, streamline processes, reduce risks, and ensure the timely and efficient sourcing of goods and services across our operations. This individual will establish strong supplier relationships, and implement best practices to support the company's objectives around value creation while driving continuous improvement. Additionally, you will play a key role in the integration of our EMENA Indirect Procurement team into the quickly evolving Global Indirect Procurement Community across Avery Dennison.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for key categories and subcategories linked to spend in Professional Services across multiple functions and activities like Marketing, HR, Finance and Travel.

• Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify industry trends, best practices, and potential sourcing opportunities.

• Define category KPIs and develop measurement strategies to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

• Lead RFx/tenders and negotiate contracts with business partners and suppliers.

• Leverage sourcing best practices, including competitive bidding and should-cost modeling, to achieve optimal pricing and service levels.

• Develop and manage strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.

• Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular business reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance service levels

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions in order to identify and implement opportunities for automation and digitalization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or a related field

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing / procurement (focused on professional services)

• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills; and demonstrated ability to manage/lead multiple projects and programs simultaneously

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across different functions and cultures

• Self-starter, able to drive projects to conclusion and work effectively with a variety of people at various levels of the organization

• Proficient in Google workspace platform and tools. Ariba proficiency is a plus

• Willingness to travel up 5 to 20% within Europe

• Fluency in English and preferably one other European language
