Azure Platform Engineer

Within ICS' Information & Technology, we're searching for an Azure Platform Engineer to contribute to building the Azure Cloud Based Service Provider, helping the organization achieve high throughput and reduce time to market.

Your job

A typical day in the life of an Azure Platform Engineer involves:

• You start the day by joining the daily standup.
• Align with Azure Cloud platform team, application DevOps teams, CISO, and Architecture teams to understand their requirements and implement platform services inline with set guidelines and principles.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and procedures as part of the team.
• Contribute to the Reusable Assets.

You’ll be working with the Cloud platform engineering team of ICS. The Central Azure Cloud platform team is a group of engineers & coaches whose goal is to make development teams’ lives better and more fun by increasing the speed and quality of code and researching new possibilities. They do so by offering greater learning choices combined with experimenting with new technologies and much more.

We like to keep things informal and prefer working together on things via pairing or mobbing; everything that can be automated, we try to automate. And we’re always looking for that next improvement!

Your Profile

You have a good experience in solving difficult problems across multiple teams. That experience has shaped you into an effective expert capable of setting up best practices, frameworks documentation templates for ICS IT.

You do what is necessary to achieve results, without being constrained by a traditional division of roles, tasks, development methodologies, or other sacred cows.

You have an innate drive to improve yourself and your (practical) knowledge. We’re keen to hear about your recent learnings during a meetup or conference that you attended (online).

You really need to recognize yourself in the following requirements:

• 4-6 years of IT experience and 2-3 years of experience in Azure Administration/Platform Engineering experience.
• Support Infrastructure Development: Assist in designing and managing Azure-based infrastructure solutions(IaaS and PaaS), Azure Virtual networks, NSG, UDR, Firewalls, Virtual machines (Windows and Linux), Storage, Policy, SQL database, etc.
• Security and Governance: Implement security controls using Management groups, Azure Policy, GPO, resolving vulnerabilities, etc.

It would be nice if you have knowledge and/or experience with these as well:

• Learn and Implement Automation: Gain experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM Template, and PowerShell for automating resource provisioning.
• Contribute to CI/CD Pipelines: Help develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for continuous integration and delivery.
• Assist in Kubernetes Management: Learn about Kubernetes and support in configuring and managing clusters for containerized applications.
