Assistant/Jr. Project Manager

Damen Civil & Modular Constructions is a company within the Damen group, passionate about building entire shipyards, drydocks of all sizes, a wide range of pontoons and barges, split hopper barges, and other steelworks worldwide. We are headquartered in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, but we serve and build projects globally. You are a communicative and organized person, eager to excel in the field of project management while thinking outside the box. You have a technical background with a hands-on mentality.

The Role: Assistant Project Manager

Currently, we are looking for an ambitious assistant project manager. In this function, you will support more senior project managers with big steel projects such as drydocks and large pontoon orders. Besides supporting senior project managers, you are also expected to control other steel projects in our standard portfolio or one-off orders. You should be able to deliver a project on time, within budget, and up to our Damen quality standard while communicating clearly with your internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include:

• Delivering a project on time, within budget, and up to the Damen quality standard.
• Communicating any issues internally and externally.
• Reporting and keeping all stakeholders informed and escalating when necessary.
• Ensuring successful project delivery by visiting production sites worldwide regularly.

Education / Skills and Experience:

Requirements include:

• 3+ years of experience in projects within the maritime or steel-products environment.
• Hands-on mentality.
• Higher professional education or Bachelor-level technical or maritime thinking level.
• Good command of the English and Dutch language (written & verbal).
• Available for business travel and/or working abroad for a short-medium duration.
