The Role: (Senior) Engineer Shipbuilding

We are seeking a (Senior) Engineer Shipbuilding with experience looking for the next step in their career. You will be part of an engineering team within operations, steering subcontractors for the Basic and Detail Engineering package.

Key Accountabilities

• Work out design, specifications, detail- and work drawings within the specified procedures and standards.
• Register and archive designs, drawings, and project-related information.
• Structural design and integration of steel outfitting and structures such as hull doors and stairs.
• Draw up construction plans and deck arrangements.
• Carry out calculations for weights, stability, and structures in shipbuilding.
• Perform feasibility and risk analyses on the initial design.
• Produce order lists and prepare technical specifications for purchase orders.
• Support client, Class, and national authorities' approval processes.
• Coordinate outsourced work to subcontractors.

Skills & Experience

Quality consciousness and a practical approach are in your blood. You are proactive, creative, and work accurately. Additionally, you possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Shipbuilding or Maritime Engineering.
• 1 or 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
• An interest in innovation and an open mindset to new technologies.
• Experience with software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic.
• Experience with Maxsurf or Siemens NX (FEM) is a plus.
• Team-oriented, effective at planning and organizing, willing to learn new skills, and results-focused.
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language.
• Availability of 32-40 hours per week.
